Description
Please read the full advert before messaging 😊
I’m looking for someone who’s looking for a home, not just a room — someone who wants to create their own little village, is genuinely ready to move, communicates well and has experience living in shared accommodation.
A couple of quick things first:
* Please have at least one clear photo of yourself on your profile.
* If we arrange a viewing and I share my WhatsApp/number, please continue the conversation there rather than back on SpareRoom. 😊
⸻
🏡 About the flat
I’ve lived here for over 4 years and absolutely love it. It’s a pretty chill home, and this isn’t just somewhere I sleep — it’s my home. I’m looking for someone who’d like to treat it as theirs too.
It’s a ground-floor flat near Watford Junction, and you’d be sharing with just me.
We also have lovely neighbours — we even had a residents’ BBQ on the grounds last summer! 😊
📍 Location
* 6-minute walk to Watford Junction
* Around 17 minutes to Euston
* 7-minute walk to Atria
* Easy drive to Pinner, Harrow & Northwood
* Around 30 minutes’ walk to Watford General Hospital
⸻
👋 About me
I’m a software developer and work a hybrid schedule between home and offices in Farringdon, Hoxton and Victoria.
I’m a proud British Bangladeshi — made in Bangladesh, raised in the UK 😂
I’m culturally Muslim, although not particularly practising. I’ve happily lived with people from lots of different backgrounds and would love to continue doing that.
I don’t smoke and drink socially.
One personal preference: I’d really prefer to live with someone who doesn’t cook or eat pork in the flat. I hope that’s understandable.
⸻
🛏️ Your room
A fully furnished double room with:
* Brand-new ottoman bed with premium mattress
* Built-in wardrobe
* New IKEA furniture
* Plenty of storage
A couple of notes: the desk in the photos belonged to my previous flatmate and won’t be included. You’ll also need to bring your own duvet and pillows for hygiene reasons.
⸻
✨ What’s included
* 55” 4K TV with Netflix & Prime
* Fast broadband
* Dishwasher
* Berkey water filter
* Free on-street parking a short walk away
* Fully furnished communal living room, kitchen and bathroom
⸻
🙋♀️ Who I’m looking for
Honestly, I’m not looking for perfection — just someone who has their life reasonably together and understands how to share a home.
Ideally, you’re:
* Kind and respectful
* Honest
* House-proud
* Hygienic
* Considerate of shared spaces
* Good at communicating
* Self-aware
* Happy to share cleaning responsibilities
I’m particularly on one about keeping the kitchen and bathroom clean. I don’t expect the flat to look like a show home — we’re all human, and a normal lived-in home is absolutely fine. I just appreciate consistency and consideration.
⸻
🧹 House expectations
If it’s not obvious already, I’ve had some… memorable flatmates over the years 😂, so I’ve learnt it’s better to be upfront about the things that matter to me.
Nothing here is particularly unusual — it’s mostly about being considerate:
* Clean up after yourself.
* Leave communal spaces roughly how you found them.
* Lock the front door when you get in
* Store food hygienically and don’t completely monopolise the fridge.
* Please wear clothes in communal areas. (Didn’t think this needed to be said but here we are 🙃)
* Turn lights, heating and TV off when you’re out.
* Open windows to air your room when possible.
* No outdoor shoes indoors.
* Wear clean indoor slippers/sliders in the flat.
* Wipe down the shower after use to prevent mould
* Alternate weekly cleaning of communal areas.
* Split the cost of communal essentials such as bin bags and cleaning products.
* Please don’t run excessive amounts of laundry every week — by excessive, I mean using the washing machine virtually every day or running multiple loads unnecessarily. We all pay the bills. 😅
Basically: look after the home, clean up after yourself and be considerate of the person you live with.
⸻
💻 Working from home
I’d ideally like someone who mainly works from the office.
Hybrid working is absolutely fine, but if you’re home significantly more than average, we’d need to have a conversation about a fair contribution towards the additional bills.
⸻
☕ The vibe
I’d love to live with someone who’s friendly enough for the occasional chat, takeaway or movie night, while also being completely comfortable giving each other our own space.
I’m not looking for a best friend or someone who needs to do everything together — but it would be lovely if we genuinely enjoyed living together and the flat felt like a home for both of us.
⸻
💬 Interested?
If you’ve made it this far, thank you! 😊
If this sounds like your kind of home, send me a message telling me a little about yourself, what you do for work and when you’re looking to move.
I’m much more likely to respond to someone who’s clearly read the advert, so please tell me a little about yourself rather than just sending “Hi, is this available?”
Looking forward to hearing from you! 😊
