Description
We have on offer a double room in a large, well-maintained, attractive and historic house, with a large private garden, situated opposite a park, in a quiet, safe area, less than 30 minutes by train from Victoria, London Bridge, Waterloo, Charing Cross and Blackfriars stations.
As well as the private occupancy of the bedroom, the new housemate will also have full use of the large living and dining room, breakfast room and kitchen on the ground floor, as well as the conservatory and garden.
All bills, to whit gas, electricity, water, 100mbps Internet (with full WiFi coverage), occasional visits from our gardeners and a weekly visit from Patricia, our cleaner, are included.
We are a friendly bunch, comprised of two software developers, a HR professional, a civil servant and Roger, the cat.
This is not a party house, as we all work long hours, but we do occasionally enjoy eating dinner together, playing some board games, or indulging in a movie night in front of the brand new 55in television. The garden is very well suited to a BBQ in the summer.
Smokers would be welcome to smoke only in the garden. The interior of the property is strictly non-smoking.
We are ideally seeking a single young professional for our new tenant, and as everyone in the house is aged between 30 and 40, we think it would be best if our new tenant was to be somewhere roughly near this age range.
That said, we do not discriminate on any basis and are open to applications from all potential tenants. As the room is situated on the first floor of the property, with no lifts, I must mention that living in this room would likely prove challenging for those less physically able.
We are not averse to the idea of accommodating a couple in this room. In this case, please be aware that a surcharge of £100 a month over the existing ask would apply, in order to account for increased resource usage.
A standard double bed, two bedside tables and a chest of drawers are provided. We have listed it as furnished, as we are prepared to purchase whatever furniture you may need, within reason, but we would be equally happy should you want to bring your own.
