Description
Thinking positively, and assuming this is just the right place for you and it all works out, you will find yourself in a beautiful, comfortable, quiet flat with great views of the sea and the cliffs. It's right in the middle of town, yet it's one of the quietest flats I've ever lived in. It's close to everything; the Old High Street, the Quarterhouse, the Silver Screen, lots of lovely restaurants, Lidls and Sainsbury's. And the sea.
It's 10 mins walk to Folkestone Central train station and 5 mins walk to the old and new Bus Station.
I live in London now but will be down to stay in Folkestone from time to time, to see friends, look after anything that needs doing in the flat, and swim in the sea... So, you will mostly have the flat to yourself. I suspect my room may be largely given over to the storage of my things, depending on how much space you'd like for your own things in the kitchen, living-room, hall... etc.
In case it's of interest I do have a barely used Clavinova
We have a very nice, very helpful neighbour on the same floor. Indeed, all the neighbours I've come across in the two apartment buildings that make up Merchants Place have been great...
Your own space would be a double bedroom with a very good double bed, two wardrobes, a chest of drawers, and a small antique desk. It has an ensuite shower and loo. The shower is excellent by all accounts. There is also a family bathroom with a tub. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped with a washer/dryer, your own fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. There's an open plan dining and living room area.
There is a lift providing step free access from the parking area under the building. Our private parking is accessed from Rendezvous Street through a parking gate with code entry. I have a small motor scooter in our space and there is room for a car next to it, if you have one.
I have things here which may or may not be useful to you. A TV, nice pots, pans, dishes, a vacuum cleaner etc. If you already have everything you need, and it makes sense to do so, I can bring things to London, or store them in my bedroom, out of your way. I have also had some storage cabinets installed above the kitchen cabinets on a high wall for this purpose.
The flat is Council Tax Band B. Spare Room ask that we state the Tax band in our Ads, so there you have it!
It's available in September, possibly sooner if that helps but I'm in no great hurry. As you know it's very important for both of us to make the right choice!
