Description
My name is Daniel, I'm happy to be called Dan.
I've been renting the house for seven years and have a great landlord, I moved in with a mate, we enjoyed more space than we would have had in a flat and it worked really well, he moved closer to his work. A lodger then stayed for nine months but has now left to stay with his family.
The house is too big for one person and I really like living here so I'm hoping I'll find a new housemate to share all of the space under a lodger's agreement.
I need you to be a working person.
Due to the house layout I personally think it's more suitable for a man. I don't have any age preference.
Beresford Road is a row of typical Victorian style terraced houses with walled back yards, ours is a manageable space with lots of flowers, it's private and gets lots of summer sunshine.
I have the back bedroom and use the former nursery for my wardrobes and drawers.
You'll take over the front bedroom, it's the biggest, gets plenty of light, and with a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers - still has plenty of room. You are free to personalise it to your own taste (within reason), it's currently painted white as is the rest of the house.
Lounge is comfortable and cosy, has a 55" tv, Echo speaker, and Hue lighting.
Dining table+four chairs.
Kitchen is small but I can cook a banging roast in it no problem - gas hob, electric oven+grill, loads of pots+pans+stuff, dishwasher, and Echo Show... this leads to the only bathroom in the house.
Washing machine - we've been using a clothes line and rack because the bills were silly high when we had a tumble dryer and it's worked okay.
I work about 50 hours per week and don't stay up late if I've got an early start, you'll have plenty of personal space and time. I waste a lot of my days off just lazing around in the yard but enjoy the break from my job as a support worker.
I don't watch much tv, I prefer music and generally keep the volume to a level that me you and the neighbours are okay with. I waste hours scrolling tik tok and similar videos which I rely on for news, education, and entertainment. I do drink but not very often, I smoke but only ever up the end of the garden and never in the house. I'm easy-going and drama free, we'll agree house rules that we're both happy with.
I have household Amazon Prime, Prime video, and Amazon music, I swap and change around other streaming platforms for free weeks and cheap offers.... if you watch a lot of tv I'd be happy to get the Sky TV/Netflix/Disney+ package currently advertised.
There's road parking - with a bit of luck.
I don't drive, I walk a lot or use the bus, we're only a couple of minutes from the bus stop, Waitrose, and the town/harbour.
Message me to let me know that you're interested, let me know a little about yourself and we can arrange for me to call you (I don't usually have access to my phone at work). You can come and see the place and we can establish whether we'll make good housemates.
You'll need £800 up-front monthly rent.
- this covers your half of rent and essential bills: council tax, gas+electric, water, and broadband.
- I pay tv+music subscriptions mentioned and provide household cleaning stuff including laundry products.
- you'll buy your own food but we can split food shopping if we have similar tastes, I eat at work 4/5 times per week.
- you'll need to show valid ID
