Description
I have a highly unusual property to offer you!
2 bedrooms are in the annex part of the house, 1 double and 1 single, - (the single room being the room available), with a lounge, shower room/toilet, and front door, all separate to the main house and available for lodgers use. This means that other than my second lodger, your space is pretty much private, and quiet!
The current lodger in the Annex is a 29 year old Male, who is often away at weekends. He will be your main flatmate. He has just finished Uni, and is now studying for TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification.
I mostly work in a supermarket at night at the weekends, but also occasionally on a film set as an Extra. My son is currently unemployed.
You will share the kitchen, and garden with the family (myself and my adult son)and the current lodger and in the kitchenette part of the annex, the washing machine and tumble drier will also be shared. (So you may still see me from time to time!)
We are close to countryside within just a few minutes drive, yet close enough to town to give you the best of both worlds. Motorways M2 and M20 are just minutes away, making commute an easy option, with the new railway station also having the high speed rail link direct into London - a 30 minute walk down to town, or a bus hop away.
So long as you are friendly, reliable & honest, fairly tidy and respectful, and you can live with our erratic lifestyles, then this may be the place for you!
I am looking to sell the property, although the current housing market, and my unusual property is making this a harder than average task. You will have at least 6-10 weeks notice when it does eventually sell however. (Alex has been here 2 years despite my efforts!)
We are creative, open minded people here, and offer a very warm, but private household. My son (young adult) has mild autism so is a little aloof, but polite, I hope you will understand and allow for this. Plus, you will need to be an animal lover, as we have 2 dogs and a (tart of a)cat...!
I have taken benefits applicant's off but DSS applicants please note: Medway council WILL NOT give the emergency grant on a lodging, so please make sure you have the means to pay the deposit and month in advance. If you can cover the difference, I will be happy to have you. I get too many people asking, then not being able to take the room.
There is a big difference between lodging and tenancy which confuses people. Lodging is sharing a room in the landlords house, tenancy is when you have the property to yourself, on your name. The laws on each are very different.
Please also make sure you can cover any shortfall from the rent allowance the DSS will give you, as it does not always cover the full rent. This should save us both a lot of disappointment and frustration.
Thank you!
