Description
The rooms are available for a short time over the summer (late July until 30th August).
The accommodation is a private, self-contained extension to a family home. (Own entrance, kitchen, living/bedroom, shower room)
The sitting/bed room has a very high ceiling and includes a raised sleeping area. There is also a small sofa, storage, shelving and a desk.
The breakfasting kitchen is a separate room up a few stairs from the main living space.
There is a shared hallway and utility area. The shower room is off this.
The rooms will suit someone who wishes to live in a quiet, safe area and likes their own space (though is also comfortable to say hello and chat and not be a 'stranger' in the house)
The kitchen is fully equipped and bedding and towels are available if required.
Bishopbriggs has many amenities and is a very convenient location.
It is a quiet area which is handy for both the city centre (including Strathclyde and Caledonian Unis) and the countryside. It is a 12 minute walk from the house to the city centre bound platform at the train station (if you don't rush!) Followed by a 6 minute train journey into central Glasgow. It takes about 20 minutes on the bus.
It is possible to cycle into Glasgow along the canal (reaching the Maryhill area, leading on to the West End). G64 is not the best location for access to the University of Glasgow - unless you have a car. It is great for the other Universities.
Access to Edinburgh (50 minutes) or Stirling and beyond is easy from the train station.
I live with my teenage daughter in the main part of the property. We are both friendly (well, she is shy) and also enjoy our own space.
My daughter has expressed a preference for a female and would not feel comfortable with a male taking the space. It isn't suitable for couples or overnight visitors. (A different room with a sofa bed is available for occasional friend and family overnight visitors by agreement)
We have a cat called Daisy and a large garden. A willingness to feed Daisy if required would be appreciated. Daisy's cat flap is in the the kitchen.
Please message if you are interested or if you have any questions.
