Bright, airy room in Dennistoun to let

Hello! My name is Sophie and I live in Dennistoun with my dog Milo and cat Lily. I’m in the process of renovating and I’m looking to rent out the spare room to fund the improvements. The room has just been freshly decorated and comes fully furnished with double bed, wardrobe, drawers, bedside table, mirror, chair and desk. If you’re staying short term I will provide bed linen too.

I won’t be doing any major work while I have someone in, so it should be peaceful in the flat! All the usual amenities are there (dishwasher, cooker, washing machine, fridge freezer, shower etc) but the finish of the floor and decor is a bit rough and ready. It’s a work in progress!

The flat is in Dennistoun, a short walk from Duke Street and Alexandra parade. There are lots of nice cafes and restaurants in the area, plus two big parks - Alexandra park and Glasgow Green. It’s close to public transport and walking distance to the city centre. Dennistoun is also super convenient for the m8 and m77 if you drive.

You’ll be sharing with me - 39, female, live in landlord who enjoys cooking, board games, exploring in nature and a quiet night in with Netflix. I like to socialise but I’m not a big party animal any more, however I enjoy sharing a meal sometimes or watching a movie, and you are welcome to invite friends over. I’m friendly, but also respectful of other peoples need for space. Bonus points if you like a geeky board game!

The rent is £500 a month and includes council tax, internet, and utilities. There is no TV but you can obviously watch via a laptop.

I also live with Milo, a 12 year old Labrador mix and Lily, a 15 year old moggy. Lily lost her brother last year and is desperate for company, so be prepared for a LOT of cat cuddles. She will literally harass you for attention so being comfortable with cats is essential! Milo is also friendly, but likes his own space much more.
The flat is a non smoking environment but there is a garden where you can get your nicotine fix.

I’m looking for short or medium term flat shares, though this could be negotiated for the right person. Happy to do short stays if you’re passing through and want a few nights in a comfy bed. Perhaps you’re spending the summer in Glasgow and want to stay for a few months. The reason for this is so I can do more work to the flat in between tenants, and chip away at the jobs bit by bit.
