Description
Welcome to your new home :)
I am renting out a spacious bedroom in my 3-bedroom flat, starting November 15th. Rent is £600 per month, including bills.
Looking for a female flatmate, ideally in her 30s — the golden decade for good chats, plant parenting, and a decent bottle of wine in the cupboard.
The room is South-facing and looks onto Paisley Road West. It has a trundle bed that can be pulled into a large double, a desk with a chair, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a built-in bookcase, an armchair, and thick black-out curtains. Duvet, pillows and bedsheets can be provided.
About the flat
It is a 3-bedroom tenement flat (approx 120 years old) with restored hardwood floors, a shared dining and living room with a comfy sofa and armchair, a shared bathroom, a small galley-style kitchen, a small box room that we use as a reading nook/guest bedroom, and a communal garden with seating and a drying line.
The flat has big double-glazed windows, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a dryer. It is on the top (2nd) floor and South-facing, so we get lots of great light when the sun comes out. :)
It is a 7-minute walk to Cessnock Subway station, with easy access to the West End, South Side and city centre. Supermarkets, shops, bus stops, a yoga studio and a climbing centre are within walking distance. Ovo bikes are available right in front of the house. Also, easy to cycle to the West End thanks to the new Govan bridge. The area is safe and friendly, with on-street parking, but it does get busy during match day at Ibrox Stadium.
I am still doing some odd repairs and improvements in the flat, and we submitted a plan to break down the wall between the kitchen and living room to make it open-plan, so if that happens (maybe next year), we would lose access to the kitchen for a couple of days. Just a heads up!
About Us
You'd be living with me (38, German, self-employed in international development/ PhD researcher), and Katie (31, Scottish, flight attendant). We are a friendly and social bunch, plant lovers (!), and like having a cup of tea or a meal together, going to yoga or hiking together, whilst also understanding and respecting privacy and alone time. I work from home 2 days a week, and Katie is out a couple of days a week because of her work.
About you
I am looking for a flatmate I can get along with, who is mature, responsible, and clean, to connect and create a friendly, calm, and tidy home with.
Strictly non-smoking, females preferred, and vegetarians like me are preferred (but meat-eaters welcome, as long as the kitchen doesn’t smell like a steakhouse 24/7). Dogs welcome, but no cats because of allergies (sorry!).
I have put quite some work into making the flat nice, and would appreciate someone who also likes to keep it nice. As I might potentially escape the winter (January/February) and Katie is out a lot, you should be okay with potentially taking care of the flat for a couple of months.
Get in touch and tell me a bit about yourself, e. g. hobbies, age, experience living with others, and whether you go to an office or work from home (would need to be from your room as the living room is our social space).
