Description

Hello,

I'm looking for someone to take my flatmate's place in this two bedroom flat in Hyndland from around February 1st (some wiggle room on the move in date).

It's a lovely flat in a nice location with good transport links to the city centre - Hyndland station is on our street, and in a rush I can make it to the platform in about two minutes. Trains to both Central and Queens Street are regular, or, if you need to get into the West End proper, Byres road/the near side of the University is roughly a 15-20 minute walk.

The room comes with a double bed, wardrobe, bedside table, armchair, desk, and a dresser. There's also quite a big storage closet not pictured here which is a bonus. For the flat in general, there's also room to do quite a bit to it to make it more yours if you like. The water pressure/temperature of the shower is god-tier and the kitchenette is fairly small, but there's plenty of space at the kitchen island and if you like cooking having the gas burners is a big plus.

To give the spiel about me: I'm a lecturer on film/critical studies at the Royal Conservatoire in the city centre and strictly speaking I am still doing a PhD at the UofG (though I've paused it for a while). I've organised/hosted a few things at different cultural spaces around Glasgow and I try to dedicate what time I can to political organising in the city. I'm fairly outgoing even if my party days are over, and I've lived with other people for a long time in a few different living situations, so I'd like to think I'm a considerate flatmate. I've been in the city for four years now and can give you some advice if you're new. I tend to be out at cultural events in the city a lot, and like to think I have good recommends (don't we all?). I'm used to living with a mixture of guys and girls if that's of consequence to anyone, and I'm a boring straight dude but, of course, it's a queer friendly flat open to any queer folks needing a place. On that note, I'm not expecting anyone to match my interests one-to-one at all, I don't think that's a must for a flatmate, but kindly please do not be a tory or a terf. My landlord isn't asking for references, but he would ask that you can either provide proof of income or a guarantor. Students welcome, but you will have to pay half the council tax.

Per person, council tax is £92 a month (unless it's discounted for any reason like you're a student), and bills are roughly £80 a month across the year.

For what it's worth, a flat this nice in Hyndland is very rare for less than £650-£700p/m. Otherwise, my heart goes out to anyone searching for a flat and finding it hard, I've been there and I know it sucks. Shoot me a message if you're interested :)
