Hello!

I am looking for a housemate or housemates in Lanark who wants to help make a home for 6 months/ a year or even hopefully longer. Unfortunately we are not HMO but still can and open to poly/ couples and family combinations as long as it fits under non-HMO regulations. This can be couples/ sisters/ aunts etc. No kids sorry.

The room: Double with recently decorated ensuite and 2 spacious wardrobes. It will be unfurnished but there may be possibility for the King Size bed to be left if it can't be taken. The room is yours to furnish and decorate as you please. There are an additional 2 empty Single rooms which can be rented for another family member or exclusive use as office etc. One is currently a guest bedroom and the other a drying room.

*the double room is not available for rent by itself but only in addition to the en-suite double*

The house: Semi-furnished and very open to ideas and possibilities of any furnishings you want to bring or buy or what we can use the rooms for.
There are three reception rooms. One with the 55" OLED 4K TV and the sofa. The office/ piano/ activity room. Finally a dining room with an extending table.
There is a hallway cupboard which is used as coat/ shoe/luggage storage.
There is also a downstairs toilet.
The kitchen and utility has just had new doors, worktops and sinks installed and plenty storage for any items again you with to bring/ buy. There's a washing machine, dishwasher and the tumble dryer is kept in the garage. The garage also has ample storage space and shelves.
Upstairs there's the linen cupboard which boiler is in. Good to dry clothes especially in winter. I've an electric airer which you are welcome to use too.
The guest room can be used for your family and friends too. Although you have ensuite, you are welcome to use the bathroom as well as any guests staying.
There is a large garden and relayed patio which does have table and chairs (not pictured) and a large double garage.

The area: A leafy suburb which has a couple of playparks and fields across the street as well as a pathway. We are located 10 minutes into town centre and the railway station. Lanark has a few pubs and bars and a loch. Tinto is a short drive away. The swimming pool and gym is just down the road. There's a doctors surgery, dentists, Tesco, Morrisons, Greggs and Costa and several tea rooms, there's also a retail park with B&M and Lidls.
It's a roughly an hours drive into Glasgow or Edinburgh as well as the trains (Edinburgh being longer). It's half hour to Wishaw and Livingston roughly so perfect for Wishaw General workers or St Johns. It's also close to Motherwell College.

Me: I’m non binary and queer. I am taking sabbatical and working PT in Costa until I find the correct type and dosage of medication for ADHD. In the mean time I have joined a pet/house sitting website as a chance to travel a bit. I then will look into a new day job career as well as continue to look for work as a performer.
I’m really into films (cineworld member), all forms of theatre, not just MT and plays but ballet and drag and would love to see opera too. I do like good food and wine as well. I Can’t cook for shit but like trying new things… if someone cooks then I clean! Otherwise I buy us a takeaway.
I’m also a TV binger and like SCI FI. Star Trek Enterprise is next now Voyager is done.
I‘d say I’m pretty adventurous and like trying new things. Rather try and dislike then not try at all.
As a flatmate I do like to be socialable and watch a film or binge a TV show together (Star Trek I did with my previous flatmate) or even have a tea/ wine though we can respect when we want to be left alone. As with a long term rent I would like to have a friendship and not be strangers.

You: Mature student(s) or professional(s). Clean, tidy and willing to help take care of the home we make together. Sorry but not living with Tories, TERFs, SWERFs, Israel supporters or people who don't support the rail strikes. Smoker is fine but outside or in the garage only. Pets are a bonus!!
Couples considered at £1000 including bills and 1000 deposit.

Move in date: 1st October is planned and flexible depending on how soon current housemate finds somewhere new.

Bills: All included. Council Tax Band F.
