Description
Hiya! We are looking for a new flatmate in our 4 bedroom HMO flat in Finnieston, West End. Please read our entire ad before inquiring as it covers most FAQs :)
TENANCY START DATE: 1 April 2024
(rent + deposit due 31 March 2024)
RENT: £475
(paid on the last day of every month, as above)
Note that due to the change in tenancy, rent will increase to £500 beginning in June 2024
DEPOSIT: £500
THE ROOM:
Double bedroom with garden view, furnished with double bed, armchair, closet, chest of drawers, desk + desk chair. Note that half of the white closet houses the water heater.
THE FLAT:
The flat is in a great location – ground floor in a tenement building steps away from Kelvingrove park, 10 minutes to UoG, minutes away from tesco/sainsbury’s, and 10 minutes from lidl. There is a bus stop located directly across the street and the nearest train station (Exhibition Centre) is an 8 minute walk. There is no living room, but the entryway is spacious and has a large table. The kitchen is well equipped with a washing machine and a new stovetop and fridge. Cookery is communal (as are most things in the common areas of the flat, unless otherwise specified).
COUNCIL TAX STATUS:
We would prefer to live with other students to avoid paying council tax. However, we are open to living with non-students so long as they are responsible for paying their own council tax.
YOUR FLATMATES:
Sage is a Climate Justice PhD student at Glasgow Caledonian University and an occasional dog sitter, Keren is getting her masters in Information Management and Preservation at UoG, and Fae is starting at UoG in the fall.
It’s important to us that our household is considerate, communicative, and supportive. We love to chat, but also respect each other’s need for space. Our house is ideal for veggie/vegan post-grad students and LGBTQ+ friendly!
PETS:
Pet sitting is okay with the landlord as long as animals are quiet and supervised by their sitter at all times. Unfortunately, we can’t welcome permanent pets into our home at this time.
PARKING:
Available with permit.
BILLS:
Internet: £10/month per person
Utilities: This is a hard one to estimate, but in the past it's been around £30/month per person. We conserve as much energy as possible in the flat and will be installing a smart meter soon, which should help.
Shared costs: around £5/month per person for shared resources like cleaning supplies and kitchen staples
Thank you for reading! If you're interested in the room, please write us a message introducing yourself, a bit about what you're like to live with, and any questions. We are available for in person or virtual viewings. Please let us know your availability and preference in your message!
