Description
The Room:
The room is a cheerful, cozy bedroom flooded with natural light from a large east-facing window. It’s fully furnished with a double bed (with a great mattress!), wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk, and lamp. There’s plenty of storage and extra space for belongings or additional furniture. I’m also happy to remove some furniture items if you’d rather bring your own.
The House:
This charming Victorian terraced home boasts many original features including fireplaces, cornicing, and classic red & black quarry tiles. Shared spaces include a good-sized living room and dining room (not pictured), both featuring wood-burning stoves, and a spacious bathroom with a large bath and loads of storage. The kitchen and utility room are brand new, fitted with modern appliances including a washer/dryer, and offer plenty of workspace and storage. You’ll also have access to a bright yet private back garden and a basement for extra storage.
Location:
A great base for commuting! Just a 2-minute walk to the well-connected Carnforth train station and a 5-minute drive to M6 Junction 35. Lancaster University is just a 20-minute drive away, and Lancaster City Centre is only 15 minutes. Commuters and outdoor lovers will appreciate the proximity to the South Lakes — Kendal in 25 minutes and Windermere in 30 minutes by car.
Carnforth itself is a small, friendly market town with everything you need within easy walking distance: Tesco, Aldi, Booths, and a Co-op are all within 5 minutes. You’ll also find a great GP, gyms, a Post Office, local shops, a lovely secondhand bookshop, plus cafés, pubs, bars and takeaways.
Current Household:
It’s just me living here - I’m easy-going, friendly, and generally quiet. I do sing and teach singing, so there may be some (daytime) noise from time to time, but it’s all during reasonable hours. I work shifts, so my schedule can be a bit varied, and while I occasionally have guests over, it’s never disruptive. As long as myself and my space are respected, I’m pretty easy-going :)
About You:
Ideally, I’m looking for a respectful and considerate housemate. You don’t need to be super quiet, but this is a terraced house, so being mindful of noise - especially for neighbours with young children or elderly residents - is important. No smokers or vapers, and definitely not a party house. The space would suit a young female postgrad student or a young professional who wants a calm, homely space. Happy to agree on a cleaning rota or split the cost of a cleaner - as long as you’re tidy and communicate well, we’ll get on great!
Additional Info:
- All bills included except gas/electric (allowance £80 pcm)
- On-street parking (I’ve never struggled to find a spot)
- Security camera installed at the back of the house
- There’s no shared TV in the living room, but feel free to bring one for your bedroom — just bear in mind you’d need your own TV licence.
- Council Tax band A
Availability: Immediately (please note some ongoing aesthetic renovations in the dining/kitchen area - fully functional, just not pretty yet)
If you’re interested or want to arrange a viewing, please get in touch!
