I'm offering a fresh, recently decorated double room on the top floor of my 3-storey terraced cottage on the Lancashire/West Yorkshire border (Portsmouth area, Todmorden).
The room has a very comfortable electronic adjustable single bed, 100% cotton bedding and mattress protector, fitted wardrobe, desk, bedside table, wall-hung lamp and a lovely wingback chair with footstool. Tongue & groove panelling, soft green tones and a large tree mural reflect the beautiful view. Wall to wall windows look out across open fields with sheep, drystone walls and a distant forest – perfect for relaxing and taking in the scenery.
About the house & lifestyle:
This is a calm, clean and peaceful home. I go to bed around 10pm and really value quiet evenings.
I'm a vegetarian and can tolerate some meat cooking, but I'm not a big meat fan.
I have a medium-sized dog who is very much part of the family and my priority.
One newly renovated bathroom and a small kitchen (mainly for light use – there's a kettle, microwave, plates and cups right outside the room for your own use).
One sitting room – I don't use it much during the day but prefer not to share it constantly.
Small garden with seating, wonderful views and lovely birdsong.
Lots of beautiful walking routes right on the doorstep.
Fast WiFi (great for laptop use), no TV.
The room & location:
3 miles from Todmorden train station with regular services to Manchester, Leeds and beyond.
Ideal for someone who works away or travels during the week and only needs the room part-time – many people in similar situations have found it works really well here.
Please note: the room is on the top floor of a 3-storey house with stairs, so it may not suit anyone with significant mobility issues or wheelchair users.
I'm looking for the right person more than anything – someone who will respect the peaceful atmosphere, keep the shared spaces clean and tidy, and fit in with the calm vibe. The neighbours are lovely elderly folk and we have a friendly, supportive little community on our row.
Rent: £520 per month – all bills included (council tax band A, gas, electric, water, broadband).
Deposit and references required. No pets sorry (due to my dog).
