Description
This is a lovely, large, sunny ensuite room with a big balcony, a dressing room, a super-king-sized bed and a wall-mounted smart TV.
Single person only, please. The occasional overnight visitor is absolutely fine.
The village is about 4 miles from Spalding on the way towards Peterborough. Peterborough is about a 20-minute drive away. Cycling into Spalding takes about 20 minutes.
Your bedroom is a large double room which is clean and bright with original wooden beams. There is a dressing room so you won't lack storage space.
Broadband is FFTP, so it should give you all you need.
The bed is super king-sized, designed for a good night’s sleep and reading the Sunday papers in bed to the sound of the church bells coming in through the window.
There are doors out onto your private balcony from where you have a lovely view over the fens. You can see Crowland Abbey beautifully lit up at night.
The floors in the room are solid wood, so keeping them clean is easy.
The Kitchen Diner is a good-sized, L-shaped room with a large range gas cooker, a dishwasher and a big American fridge, so do feel free to cook as much as you want. Off the kitchen is a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer for you to use.
The snug is there if you want to watch TV downstairs. It has an open log fire and a wall-mounted smart TV.
There is plenty of off-street parking and the garden is quite big too.
There is a great Bramley Apple tree down the back so if you are here in the autunm you can make us all crumble if you like. (hopefully!)
The garden has been left to re-wild, and it means we have wildlife abounding. A muntjak and her baby seem to spend a lot of time here, and we have at least seven hedgehogs visiting our alfresco hedgehog restaurant this year. We've worked hard at encouraging them. Young hoglets will be out with their mothers soon, I'm sure.
Also, if you would be disturbed by the hooting of owls all night, then this house isn't for you.
This is a country house, large and quiet, fairly quintessentially English. We all make sure we clean up after ourselves promptly so nobody has the inconvenience of working around somebody else’s mess or tidying up after others. We are also very respectful of other people's space, but we are very friendly and like to chat.
We are all professional people here, being two accountants, a retired teacher and an IT specialist, so conversations can be interesting and informative.
This is no party house; we are professionals whose children have flown the nest, but we do like interesting people around. The house is certainly large enough that nobody gets in one another’s way.
At 8 pm every Tuesday, the bell ringers practice in the church next door, so if tintinnabulation isn't to your taste, then this house isn't for you.
Occasionally in the summer, we have a house BBQ where we eat and talk until the wee small hours. Lovely!
This is not an Assured Shorthold Tenancy, but a Lodger Lease.
So, if you think that a bit of country living but reasonably close to town might be for you, then please message me.
