Description

I have a spare room available for rent from the 1st of August. Price includes all bills. It is in my beautiful flat in Abbey Wood, South-East London. The window of the room overlooks a forest. Exceptionally peaceful and quiet area. Long term rental only, minimum of 6 months. Sharing the flat with just one person, myself, however I am often abroad for months. It's a one bedroom flat and I live in the 'living-room'. The kitchen is well equipped, you can use everything in it, including washing machine and dishwasher. The kitchen serves as a dining room too. There is a good quality shower in the bathroom, in addition to the bath. The flat is on the second floor, and there is no lift. The area is full of forests, excellent for walking and running. The rent is normally £700 a month including all bills, Council Tax, internet etc, but during the colder months (most likely between October and April) when heating is necessary, you would need to pay towards the gas bill, as I have gas central heating. When I am around, we would share (half-half) the cost of the gas bill, but there can be weeks or months when I am abroad, and during that time you would need to pay the whole of the gas bill (but the rest of your bills will be included in your rent). If you are away for a week or more, and I am here, then I would pay the whole of the gas bill. The area: the ruins of the famous 1000 years old Lesnes Abbey is 10 mins walking distance, around it there is a beautiful park and Cafeteria, where you can take a book (or laptop) to relax.. There are yoga and other classes at the Community Centre. Abbey Wood has excellent transport links: it has an underground and a train station (all in one). It is the South East terminal of the new Elizabeth Line, which takes you to Central London within 20 minutes. It can also take you Heathrow in one hour. Trains also stop at Abbey Wood, which can take you to London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross Stations, all in Central London, and directly to Luton, and in the other direction, to Kent and/or to South London. There are also many buses, including a night bus, which stops five minutes away from my house. Woolwich is nearby (one stop on Elizabeth Line) and you can take a boat to Central and/or West London, which is a nice experience. Alternatively you can take the DLR from Woolwich to various places in East London, which means, to the Northern side of the Thames, e. g. Stratford and Bank. This area is becoming increasingly popular, there is a new cultural centre in Woolwich, and there are occasional music concerts and even an open air theatre at Lesnes Abbey. We are in the borough of Greenwich, not far from the historic Greenwich Park, with all it's diverse cultural opportunities, theatre, cinema, jazz bar, restaurants etc. If shopping is important for you, there is a large Sainsbury and Lidl nearby, and several Farmers Markets at the weekends.
