Description
Hey guys, my best ever flatmate is sadly moving out for pastures new and we are looking for someone as nice and communicative to take his en-suite room in a spacious 2-bed flat near Tower Bridge.
Price: 1250 GBP + bills (approx £200 in summer, up to £250 in winter)
Location: between Tower Hill and Aldgate East tube stations.
Furniture: ideal flatmate is expected to buy the current furniture for 300 GBP but this could be discussed, of course (the flat came unfurnished initially).
Contract: the new flatmate will replace the previous one in the contract which ends in the end of October, but I’ll definitely would like to extend it for another year as I enjoy living here.
Pros of the flat:
🌉 really central, 10 mins walk to Tower bridge, 20 mins walk to London Bridge, 20 mins to Shoreditch and Brick lane.
🎧 I’ve never heard the neighbours, so they really made it surprisingly soundproof.
♨️ It retains the heat and stays warm in winter while allowing to save on heating (you’d appreciate it if you are also traumatised by old British houses as I am)
🌃 the views from the 12th floor are stunning (the flat is south-east faced)
🧑🍳 we have a microwave, a grill, a blender, a very simple coffee machine, a dishwasher - basically everything that should be expected in the kitchen
Cons:
🏍️ the house stays on highway which could be noisy and a problem to someone sensitive to street sounds
☀️ it’s a sunny side. We have black-outs in the bedrooms but it easily gets hot in the living room in summer (not the current summer, obviously 🥶)
🏘️ building management is quite slow when it comes to repairs and the bike parking is not safe to leave bikes.
About myself (pros and cons together, you’ll figure out which are which yourself):
👱🏻♀️I work in a PR agency 3 days in the office, 2 days from home. I’m a fan of reformer Pilates and go to the gym 3-4 times a week, also planning to do a mudgirlrun in July.
I sing in Some Voices choir and also do online singing class from home once a week - something to be mindful of as I sing really badly.
I have vinyl player in the living room with a small collection of recordings that I will try to force you to listen to me (some are music from 30s!)
I like cooking and despise things like HelloFresh as I don’t find them tasty.
I’m allergic to crumbs on the floor, so would expect my roommate to share same attitude and clean after themselves.
I go to sleep around 11pm and wake up at 7-8 . If you are a late night person, we are unlikely to get along.
I eat meat and fish.
I’m looking for someone who is not wfh all the time, who I can share an odd meal with and an occasional talk, and who is also, preferably, an immigrant like myself.
If all of these haven’t scared you yet and you think we could be good roommates, please send a message with key info about your lifestyle/daily routine/attitude to sounds and dirt 🤪
We are looking for someone who could move in on the 29-30 July.
