Description
Hi my name is Arjan and I'm looking to renew my current flat (a three bed + reception and balcony), through a tenant swap - my current flatmates are moving out due to a rent increase. There are two double rooms available which include a bed, closet, and desk - both of these rooms share a bathroom as well. The building is called Tower House, located near Aldgate East and Whitechapel Stations, and includes a building reception/security, communal garden, and a bike garage too. The area is quite nice as its walking distance to places like Brick Lane, Shoreditch, Bethnal Green, etc.
(the pictures are from last year so they look a bit messier)
For the larger sized room the rent would be 990, and the smaller sized double room it would be 975 - these rental prices only include the water bill, and the flat's Council Tax is Band E. My room is an ensuite that is the same size as the small double with smaller sized washroom that I'll be paying 1010 for as well.
I don't have any particular preferences regarding new flatmates, just that everyone is mindful, respectful and cleanly - we don't typically host parties in the flat. Also I would prefer for tenants to be working professionals rather than students so that everyone can split the council tax evenly, unless as a student you would be willing to pay a higher amount of rent to make up the difference. I also mainly work remotely and often use the shared living room for this, but by no means is this space exclusive for my use.
A little about me: I'm from Canada/Panjab but kind of grew up around the world before moving to London for university (LSE). I currently work at a Humanitarian Consultancy, in which most of my work is remote so I often work from home, or occasionally I travel for work as well. I've lived in this flat for two years, going on three and quite like the area - there's lots to do. As a flatmate I'm quite chill, don't generally host parties in the flat. I'm a bit of a serial hobbyist too so sometimes in the flat you may catch me making furniture, baking, cooking painting, or playing the viola (though I'm mindful of noise/disturbances).
Now that I'm renewing the flat for the third year I'm also looking into furnishing it better, like buying shelves/drawers to add more storage space, replacing some of the landlord's furniture, or adding artwork - would appreciate any input from potential flatmates for this as well!
Anyways let me know if you have any questions, I can usually host viewings from next week after 5pm, or sometime during the day : )
