Description

I am looking for a flatmate to move into this beautifully decorated 2 bedroom/2 bathroom/2 balcony 5th floor apartment. Move in date: 1 November.

The Room
A large, bright and comfortable bedroom with:
• Double bed
• Large cupboard and shelf unit
• Desk
• Large private bathroom (shower & bathtub)
• Access to rear balcony
There is plenty of storage inside, open shelf space and closed-off overhead space, ideal for clothes, shoes, books – anything you need to make it your home. There are also large drawers under the bed. The bathroom is sleek and modern, with both a shower and a bathtub. Finally, the floor to ceiling windows lead out into the shared east-facing balcony with views of Canary Wharf’s skyscrapers, so every morning you are greeted with beams of natural light to start the day.

The Flat
The flat itself is very spacious – almost 1000 sq ft and thoughtfully composed, with:
• Open plan kitchen/dining area/living room with 8-10 seat dining table
• Central island – excellent for cooking
• Integrated appliances (dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer)
• Large and cosy sofa enclave

The living area is very homely, with floor to ceiling windows at the south-west end leading out to a balcony with stunning views of City skyscrapers. This ensures the flat is flooded with natural light throughout the day and offers unbelievable views in any weather (exceptionally spectacular at night!).
In the kitchen, there’s plenty of cooking space with a large L-shaped granite counter running along the wall, complemented by the central island.
In the dining area, there’s a large solid-wood dining table that can easily seat 8-10 people – perfect for occasional dinner parties.
Finally, there’s the sofa area. We were lucky enough to find this furnished with a tasteful three-sided enclave of very comfortable sofas around an huge curved 4K Samsung TV – perfect for watching Netflix or playing games.

The Location
The location is beyond convenient, both in terms of amenities and landmarks which are a walking distance away, and the excellent public transport links:
• Tesco (big, open till midnight Mon-Sat) - just down the stairs, less than a minute walk! Extremely convenient
• Sainsbury’s (large) - 10 min walk - for bigger or more demanding groceries
• Tower of London and Tower Bridge - 15 mins walk
• Sky Garden - 15 mins walk
• Spitafields Market < 10 mins walk
• The Barbican - 25 mins walk
• Colombia Road Flower Market - 25 mins walk
• St Paul’s Cathedral - 30 mins walk
• Aldgate East tube station: < 5 mins walk (District / Hammersmith & City lines) will connect you to places such as Westminster or Trafalgar Square in under 15 min, South Kensington museums in 22 mins
• Aldgate tube station < 10 mins walk (Circle / Metropolitan lines)
• Whitechapel tube station < 10 mins walk (Overground and Elizabeth Line). Elizabeth Line can take you straight to Heathrow Airport, Paddington, Soho, West End or Canary Wharf (the later in just one stop!)
• London Liverpool Street station : < 15 mins walk. From there, you can hop on a national rail train for a day trip out of London or the Stansted Airport Express for further excursions

The amenities of Shoreditch are a stone’s throw away, with easy access to Box Park, Spitalfields Market and Petticoat Lane Market amongst the dozens of lively restaurants, bars and boutique stores around Brick Lane and Commercial Road.

We are less than 10 mins walk from a modern GP practice (opened 3-4 years ago). Also, in the hopefully unlikely event of seeking medical attention after hours, London Royal Hospital's A&E is only 5 mins walk away.

The Flatmate
My name is Matt and I’ve been in this flat for nearly 4 years. I’m a rather busy civil servant, who enjoys having drinks with friends, cooking, hiking, travelling, going to museums, theatre, and sometimes clubbing. I’m very flexible, I like a quiet night in as well a less quiet night out. I enjoy my alone time but I am also happy to hang out/chat about life whenever it works out. I’d describe myself as clean, easy to get along with and open-minded. I have a TV in my room so on occasions, you won’t even notice I’m around.

I am looking for a new flatmate to move in from around March, which is negotiable, for minimum a year but the longer the better :)
