Description
Amazingly located flat in central London just off Commercial Road, within a ten minute's walk of Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market, and amazing transport links!
Our flatmate is leaving so we are looking for a replacement, ideally a 27-35 yo professional.
THE ROOM:
The ensuite room has a double bed, wardrobe, a small desk, and a bathroom. The room also has a balcony to the internal part of the building which is shared with another room. The apartment is modern and has a new feel to it!
COSTS: £1000/month - this will not change until April 2026. The deposit is £900 and will be deposited in a protected scheme. This does not include bills which so far have been around £120 per month each (of course this can change due to energy prices). You would take one bill in your name from the flatmate who’s leaving (we each have one to our name).
LEASE: 24-month lease which started on 1 April 2024 with a 12-month break clause, and a clause allowing tenant changeover at any point, through an agency called Moving City. If you do not have UK citizenship, your visa/residence situation must allow you to live and rent in the UK at least until April 2026 - the agency will run a check before signing the contract.
TRANSPORT LINKS:
Aldgate East and Whitechapel stations are within a 10-minute walk and Aldgate station and Shadwell (DLR) are about a 12 mins walk away. Liverpool Street station is only about a 20-minute walk away so the transport links are incredibly excellent! Our flat is less than a minute away from the renowned Lahore Kebab Restaurant where many come from all over London for their delicious South Asian cuisine.
ABOUT US:
We both work during the week (generally 2-3 days at home, 2-3 days at the office), and we tend to cook at home in the evenings and have some friends over from time to time. We are both Italians but have friends from different parts of the world. Friends or family members stay with us (sleeping in our rooms) when they visit now and then.
Marta (she/her) - 25 yo Italian who works in international health policy and enjoys cooking, going for runs across the city, and pretending to know how to make pottery. She has been living in the flat since April and has lived in the UK for 6 years.
Lucia (she/her) - 29 yo, Italian, works in international development, likes to cook and listen to a good podcast, have friends over for dinner every now and then. She’s been living in the flat for almost 3 years.
YOU:
We are looking for a long-term flatmate to feel at home with us, someone who is friendly, respectful, cleans after themselves in common spaces, and is proactive in taking care of the flat/sharing some mental and practical load. This might mean basic things such as taking care of items that may break or require some maintenance and flagging any issues with the agency. We are fine with having friends/partners over, however, this is a single occupancy and we expect you to respect that. Please do not reach out if you do not feel the same way! No couples sorry, no pets, yes to LGBTQI+, vegans, and meat-eaters. No genocide supporters pls <3
