Description
My bestie Karolina is saying goodbye to our top-floor penthouse flat in Aldgate East leaving behind a furnished bedroom with shared bathroom. Hence, Jacqueline and I are looking for a new flatmate to take it!
About Us
Jacqueline (35) and I (34) just moved in together in May. We are both professionals working in financial services. Originally from the US and Germany respectively, we both enjoy traveling, good food, and live music. Jacqueline’s interests include working out, cycling, dancing and going to museums. Anja’s interests are volleyball, plants/gardening (there are a fair amount of plants indoor and outdoor, bubble tea, K-dramas (recently also C-dramas) and dogs (I dog-sit regularly).
Who we are looking for?
We are looking for a flatmate who we can befriend as we enjoy to celebrate successes together or help each other out when needed. Our flat is our home rather than just a flat and we’d like to find someone who is independent but also happy to share a dinner or a visit to the local pub with us every now and then. We work full time and have an active social live with several days out per week. On weekends we do the usual things like going to markets, the movies, meeting friends, eating in/out, going for drinks, travelling etc. The flat is our "sanctuary", somewhere peaceful to come back home. Therefore, we’re not looking for a flatmate who still enjoys midweek partying. The ideal flatmate will:
- Pay the rent/bills on time
- Is a working professional
- Has an active social life - but doesn't bring the party back home
- Is clean and tidy
- Likes to socialise and has a bubble tea/drink with us from time to time
- Doesn’t smoke (at least not in the flat)
- Has no "live-in" partner
The Area
Zone 1. Shops, bars, supermarkets, galleries, cinemas, restaurants, Columbia Market, Brick Lane Market, Spitalfields Market, a step-stone from The City ... no need to say more!
The Transport
- 8 minute walk to Aldgate East Station (District Line, Hammersmith & City Line)
- 12 minute walk to Aldgate (Circle Line, Metropolitan Line)
- 12 minute walk to Shadwell (DLR, Overground)
- 15 minute walk to Whitechapel (Overground, Elizabeth Line, District Line, Hammersmith & City Line)
- 2 minute walk to buses to central London
The Price The total rent p. m. is roughly £1300 and comes together as follows:
- Rent is £1150
- Water £46/3 = £15.33 p. P.
- Broadband £27.5/3 = £9.16 p. P.
- Council Tax £187/3 = £62.3 p. P.
- Electricity (depending on the season, summer is usually £110/3, while winter costs can go up to £250/3) so averaging that over a full year per month £180/3 = £60 p. P.
The deposit is £1365. A reference check from the agency will be performed to sign onto the lease. The agency also requires a minimum salary of £45.000 per year.
If the above fits you, please get in touch with us and tell us a bit about yourself (profession, age, what you are looking for, email, etc.) and also please let us know when you could move in.
Looking forward to meeting you!
