Description
A spacious double en-suite room available in a modern two-bedroom flat in Aldgate East / Whitechapel, available from 27th September.
I’ve lived here for the past couple of years and am only moving out because I’m relocating away from London. It’s been a lovely flat, particularly for the location and space.
THE ROOM
The room is a good-sized double with its own private en-suite bathroom and comes mostly furnished with:
* Double bed frame and mattress.
* Two bedside drawers.
* Fitted wardrobe.
* Office desk.
* Additional space for your own belongings/furniture.
THE FLAT
It’s a modern two-bedroom flat, so you’ll only be sharing with one other flatmate, who has his own bedroom and separate bathroom.
There’s a spacious open-plan kitchen/living area with relatively new appliances, including:
* Fridge/freezer.
* Oven.
* Dishwasher.
* Washing machine.
* Microwave.
* Air fryer.
* Kettle and toaster.
There’s also an additional storage cupboard in the hallway.
The flat is generally quiet and relaxed, so it’s a good fit for someone who wants a comfortable home rather than a busy house share.
LOCATION
The location is one of the biggest benefits of the flat, particularly if you work in the City or central London.
* 6-minute walk to Aldgate East Station – District & Hammersmith & City lines.
* Around 10 minutes to Whitechapel Station – including the Elizabeth line.
* Under 20-minute walk to Liverpool Street Station.
* Under 15-minute walk to Tower Bridge.
* Multiple bus connections nearby.
Brick Lane and Spitalfields are also within easy reach, with loads of restaurants, cafés, pubs and food options nearby.
For supermarkets, there’s an Iceland around a 5 minute walk away and a large Sainsbury’s around a 15-minute walk away.
It’s also a great location for walking, with Tower Bridge, the Thames and Wapping all nearby.
YOUR FLATMATE
You’ll be sharing with Victor, a working professional in his early 40s originally from Mexico who has lived in the UK for several years.
He mostly works from home, with around one office day per week. He’s calm, friendly and easygoing, very well travelled, enjoys cooking and exploring London, and is always happy to have a chat and occasional drink.
The flat isn’t a party household, and Victor appreciates keeping the shared spaces clean and comfortable.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Ideally, we’re looking for another working professional. No preference on gender.
Someone sociable and friendly while also appreciating their own space would fit in well. Cleanliness and being considerate of shared areas are particularly important.
* No smoking.
* No pets.
* Guests are absolutely fine from time to time.
* Not suited to someone looking for a party household.
RENT & AVAILABILITY
Rent: £1,150 pcm.
Bills are approximately £150–£170 per month on top (council tax and broadband paid monthly, gas/electric quarterly, and water twice a year).
Deposit: £780.
The room is available from 27th September, with an end-of-September move-in being ideal.
The tenancy is expected to be rolling with one month’s notice, although the exact tenancy arrangements can be confirmed with the landlord.
VIEWINGS
Message me if you’re interested and tell me a little bit about yourself.
Viewings are generally easiest after 5pm, although daytime viewings can also be arranged when I’m working from home. Weekends can also be accommodated.
You’ll also get a chance to meet Victor during the viewing and see whether you both feel you’d be a good fit living together.
Happy to send additional photos or videos of the room and flat on request.
