Description
Hi there,
Join us in a community-oriented flat in what many consider to be London’s favourite pocket.
The location
If you’ve lived in Central/North London you know it doesn’t get better than this. We are right at the heart of Angel, tucked away from Upper Street so we enjoy all the amenities of urban life but are sheltered from all the noise and disturbance of traffic.
Within 10 minutes on foot, you have access to:
- Restaurants, cafes, shops, a rustic quiet park, and a florist’s shop near St Mary’s Church — covering every need of the residential buildings around here.
- Waitrose and Sainsbury just around the corner — perfect for a quick shop on days you don’t have a meal plan
- All cuisines literally outside the door: French, Italian, Caribbean, Hongkong, Vietnamese, you name it.
- Grocery shops for diverse cuisines — I need this!
- Tailor and arts and crafts shops
- Two lovely rustic parks — you see people knitting and children playing around on weekends.
Or if you’re in a shoppy mood, head to Angel mall which is 10 minutes away on foot.
Busy as it sounds in the vicinity, our immediate neighbourhood is a residential street and with that you enjoy a neighbourly feel:
- Go for a walk or run in your free time
- Islington Square right in the back yard
- Gym and cinema around the corner — beating laziness by easing into exercise
- Safety and privacy. As a woman in my 30s this has become important to my life quality.
I feel like I’m describing a bubble but it is literally a cute village tucked away from the urban life of Angel. I’d say it’s my favourite neighbourhood so far. I work in a high-pressure environment, so being in a lovely community is essential to my sanity.
The flat
Our flat is new and modern but is part of a Georgian terraced house so it still has that neighbourly feel.
Amenities include the following:
- A modern, spacious bathroom
- A fully furnished kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine
- Storage and cupboard and plenty of kitchenware
- Wifi
- Open-plan reception space where we all can socialise
Transport
We are located at the heart of Angel so it’s well linked and central, easy for transportation to anywhere.
- 5 minutes away from Angel station (Northern Line). Change at Kings X, a stop away, for any other lines.
- Buses around the corner: 43, 30, 73, 205, 38, etc
The room:
You will occupy a double room. It has a double bed, big wardrobe, and fits a small desk.
You have a window that catches sunlight and looks over people’s backyard gardens.
Bills include water, electricity, and gas — no council tax woot woot. Approx £120 but cheaper right now as we’re not using gas for heating.
All surfaces are new and easy to keep tidy and clean!
The people
We are:
- Mature (have lived with people and want to get along long term)
- Professionals (we all work mostly outside the home)
- Social (enjoy chats and do things together sometimes)
I’m Thu, in my 30s, switching career from business to law, with a partner, but that hasn't stopped me from living with people. Because I believe in the importance of community, beyond the nuclear partnership.
We are two males one female so I’m looking for someone to balance that dynamic. Female preferred but not necessary. We’ll have a quick call for vibe check and then if you’re a good fit we’ll proceed to viewing.
Things are moving quickly so I hope we can decide whether we’ll be a good fit soon.
