I am sadly moving out of my lovely double room as I'm breaking free of the Aussie bubble and trying out life in East London. But my loss is your gain as the room and the flat are perfect, the girls are amazing and the location is so convenient. I am genuinely really sad to be leaving!
The flat is a furnished 3 bed 2 bathroom, across two storeys located right in between Balham and Clapham South. It couldn't be easier to get into the city on the Northern Line, but also there are trains from Balham station too that help with going east / west / to Gatwick Airport or when there are strikes. Really great amenities nearby like Balham high street with all the restaurants (Milk, Brickwood, etc) and shops (big Sainsburys, Aldi, Waitrose). It's also really close to both Clapham Common and Tooting Common, plus Tooting Lido for those rare days when it gets hot in Summer.
You'd be living with two lovely girls, Ellie and Sarah. Ellie is in events planning and Sarah is a radiologist. Both are into pilates, going to the gym, park walks, going out for brunch, etc and we have all enjoyed hanging out in the evenings watching TV together but are also respectful of our own quiet time and personal space.
The room is a double room and is south facing so gets really beautiful sunlight streaming in. It's furnished so comes with double bed and mattress, wardrobe, bedside table, mirror and a desk, plus there's a beautiful fireplace/mantle. One of the other bedrooms has an ensuite, so you'd only be sharing the main bathroom with one other.
Rent is currently 792 per month, however the landlord mentioned a potential increase at the start of next year so this may go up a little bit. It's still amazing value for the area and for what you get and the landlord is really reasonable so its unlikely to be a huge jump. Bills are not included and usually sit around the 150-200 mark per month (winter being the more expensive end because of heating).
