Description
Hello
Thanks for looking at my advert.
Please read the WHOLE DESCRIPTION before responding!
I am looking for a female to live with my Mum in her two bedroom house in Barnes, near the pond and with many lovely walks on your doorstep.
In return for FREE RENT, with all bills and food included, we would like someone who can stay in the house every night from 6pm - 9am with my Mum, who has early onset dementia.
Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience of living with someone who has dementia.
My Mum can sometimes sleep through the night (she goes to bed at 8pm) but can sometimes wake up and be confused or forgetful of what's happening. Sometimes she needs to be told to go back to bed, and she is only up once or twice, but on her worst days she can be up from 2am every hour until 7am (this happens about once a fortnight).
She needs help making breakfast, turning the shower on, picking up her mobile phone calls, so someone who is kind and empathetic is essential.
We pay £14 an hour from 6-8pm, and from 7-9am, which is when the day carers come.
You also get two evenings off a week, between 6-10pm.
Barnes high street has supermarkets and cafes and shops, there are regular trains to waterloo from Barnes station and the river Thames is a 10 minute walk away.
She needs some help taking her medication in the morning and at night, and needs a kind, reassuring presence at night. This does not suit someone who has troubles sleeping or going back to sleep if woken.
She is a very kind, lovely soul to live with, but she has dementia and needs someone who is patient and kind and happy to help her when she forgets things.
My mum is a former acupuncturist and therapist, originally from New Zealand who likes reading, current affairs and walking. She also loves dogs.
Her house is in a secured, gated development and the house is very cosy.
The bedroom has a double bed and a shared bathroom.
If you're interested please contact me in the first instance (please send a message, not just an expression of interest as we get too many of those to respond to), and then we will arrange a time for shortlisted tenants to have a facetime call with me, and if that goes well then meet my Mum in Barnes.
The chosen person will be moving in on the 29th June.
Many thanks
Jonathan
