Description
Hi everyone! I am looking for a lodger for my lovely home in Barnes.
I am in my mid-40s and studying for a PhD in Psychology whilst my two chidren attend a local private school. Their father lives & works in Dubai and stays occasionally during school holidays but for the most part it is just the three of us. The children are both mature for their age, are capable of entertaining themselves and are often out with friends, especially at the weekends. When they are in during weekday eveings they are often in their own bedrooms or watchng TV with me downstairs.
We are easy-going and relaxed and the house is generally a calm space. We enjoy going for walks and playing sport as well as spending time with friends, although I am to be found working a great deal of the time whilst I complete my doctorate.
I work from home three days a week so this would suit someone who is mostly in the office. I am open to males or females, ideally in 30s or 40s.
-House-
The house is 5 bedrooms with a spacious living room and a large open plan kitchen-dining-sitting room, opening onto a small garden. The room available is on the first floor and is on the garden side of the house, so it is quiet. There is a double bed, hanging space and drawers for storage and there is a bathroom on the same floor which would be predominantly for your use.
-Location-
The house is very well placed to walk to the River Thames (5mins), Richmond Park (15mins) and Barnes Village (15mins). You will also find a selection of shops (including a supermarket), boutiques and pubs (The Crossing, The White Hart and The Brown Dog) in close vicinity on (or close to) White Hart Lane.
Barnes station and Barnes Bridge station are both a 10-12min walk (20min trains into Waterloo) and you can get onto the Tube network by walking across Hammersmith Bridge to Hammersmith Tube station. There are also several bus stops close by that can take you to Richmond, Hammersmith Bridge or Putney.
-Details-
Rent: £900 (Mon-Fri), £1200 (full time)
Bills including cleaner: £75pcm (Mon-Fri), £100pcm (full time)
Timings: Available from 11/02/26
Term: Flexible on the exact arrangement but minimum length is 3 months, and hoping for someone for 6 months+.
Please get in touch if you are interested. Very happy to answer any questions or arrange a viewing.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Jess
