Description
Hi all!
My name is Benjamin and I'm a current flatmate of this apartment located in Barnsbury on Caledonian Road, N1.
The apartment is a mid-2000's build with floor to ceiling windows and skylights. It's part of a private complex of 10 other apartments; a courtyard with bike parking spaces and and a communal rooftop space. It has wooden floors throughout with tiled bathrooms and kitchen.
This apartment is located on the first floor and set back from the main road down an alley with a keypad entry/secured gate. There is a screen-entry system to answer the gate downstairs.
It is located on Caledonian road, very close to the Caledonian Road & Barnsbury Overground station and a 5 min walk from the Caledonian Road station (Piccadilly line). There are 3 bus routes across the road that head down into Kings Cross and beyond and another to Angel. We are walking distance from Islington/King's Cross/Camden/Holloway and a short cycle to Hackney and east London.
Myself and my other housemate Victor are advertising for one of the three bedrooms that will become available from August 1st. Victor and I have lived here since July 2020.
The available room is located nearest the front hallway and gets the most light in the apartment; both the morning rising sun and reflected evening light. It has a built-in wardrobe with hanging rail space, shelving and sliding doors. There is room for a double bed and desk/chair too if necessary. The room comes unfurnished.
As you can see the kitchen is quite unique as it has a window-surround. We've become used to it though at times it can feel like you're in a sound recording booth.
A little about us; we both work in the film/TV industry and have lived together since Oct 2019. I am a concept artist, 36 and Victor, 38 works in accounting. We're both freelancers and so can at times be on contracts out of the house in the studios or potentially on shorter jobs and WFH.
We kinda live like family; share cooking and are usually catching new movies or binging TV series. We like to go to the gym and cooking at home as much as eating out. We're happy to have friends over or let people crash when they're visiting London. The sofa in the lounge can become a double bed when you need it.
With London-living and shared space, the most important thing for us would be finding the right fit for living together. We don't have the space for a shelf or cupboard each so it's worked in the past to just live more like family than flat mates - we appreciate that is about personalities so happy to see how you/we feel when we catch up. We're both gay and so very LGBTQ+ friendly.
We have a private landlord and is easy to contact via phone or email when needed. He has useful contacts should the apartment or building need maintenance.
