Description
Hello lovely people, this amazing double room with French doors and skylight in a two-bed flat right by Battersea Park has become available as my current flatmate is moving out at the end of the current term.
About the property: A cosy Victorian conversion two-bed flat situated just off the south side of Battersea Park. In addition to the two bedrooms, there is a large living room, spacious kitchen, a bathroom with shower, a large cellar for storage and a sizeable patio area which will be great for barbecues and drinks when the lovely summer weather is back again. There are decent transport links, with the Battersea Power Station tube (and the Power Station itself!) about a 12-15 min walk away, Clapham Junction being either a 7 min bus or 20 minute walk away and plenty of other bus/overground links to main areas such as Clapham / Balham / Chelsea etc.
About the room: A lovely room situated at the back of the flat in an extension (no noise from upstairs!) at the opposite end of the flat to the other bedroom. There is currently a king size bed in there (which you can opt to change) and ample storage in both the wardrobe and chest of drawers with plenty more space in the cellar if you need it. The highlight of this room is really the French doors that open up on to the patio and the skylight which both allow plenty of natural light in. It’s also right by the bathroom which is a plus!
About me: I’m 31, and I left my previous career as an Army Officer last year to finally grow up and work in finance (classic)! I tend to work from the office three days a week, with the remainder WFH. I’m really into my fitness - you’ll usually find me in Battersea Park or in my CrossFit gym just down the road when I’m not working. Very partial to brunches in the Pear Tree Café (again, classic) and otherwise will usually be up for a pint in the local or cooking / getting a solid Deliveroo. Tend to put more effort into Borrowmydoggy than dating apps.
About you: Ideally within a similar age bracket, and a working professional. I have no particular preference on gender (I’ve lived with both guys and girls in the past)! Looking for all the flatmate personality clichés - but most importantly looking for someone to be friends with rather than ships passing in the night. Ideally you’d be working from the office and looking for a longer term let.
About the tenancy: The tenancy will start on 09 January 2025, for a period of 18 months. This date has the potential to be flexible; a December start may be possible. Bills each month will approximately be (each) £150 for energy, water, council tax and internet (speedy package at 500mbps). I have all the essentials - Netflix, Amazon prime, Deliveroo Plus etc.! There will be a £50 charge for the change of name on the tenancy agreement and you will have to pass a reference check.
If you’ve read this far and you’re interested / have any more questions / would like to arrange a viewing, drop me a message beginning with the word POTATO - please include a bit about yourself including age, profession, interests, what you’re looking for in terms of a flatmate / tenancy etc.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Jonny
