Description
Hello! We've got a double room available in our lovely flat in a beautiful secure gated development with huge communal courtyards/gardens located in a quiet residential area of Battersea.
The room is fully furnished (double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers) and there’s additional storage in the hallway (particularly for shoes!). The flat has got all the usual amenities including Community Fibre fast Wi-Fi (plus Netflix/Amazon Prime/all the streaming etc). The room is available from 7 July and the rent is £654 ex bills. All bills come to £140pp a month, which includes a cleaner once a fortnight plus communal cleaning things like loo roll, handwash etc.
The flat is about 2mins from the river, right by Battersea Square for chilled al fresco dining/ independent cafes etc, and is a short walk from Battersea Park, and opposite another small park with free outdoor tennis courts. We're a 15 minute walk/5 min bus ride to Clapham Junction station which has great transport links: 8 mins to Waterloo and Victoria, 5 mins to Vauxhall, all-night trains to Gatwick, direct trains to Brighton and many more, plus buses to everywhere around London (including plenty of night buses). There's outdoor communal bike storage available in the development. There's also a Santander Bike dock outside the block. There's a late opening corner shop a few minutes walk away, Sainsbury's Local/Tesco Express are a 10min walk away (both open until 11pm), plus a Waitrose, a Lidl and a 24-hr Asda are a 15 min walk away. We're also spoiled for choice with great local pubs (for pub quizzes we love the Lighthouse, a few mins walk away; and the Candlemaker and Rhythm & Booze are both 2mins away with great live music at the weekend).
The development has a porter/caretaker on site and a gorgeous huge leafy courtyard inside with lots of flowers and plants, plus lots chairs and tables to sit down with a glass of wine and a meal outside when it's warm (plus access to all the other courtyards/lawns/gardens in the development for more chilling/BBQs). We’re on the 3rd (top) floor but there’s a lift in the building to save your legs (which is also very handy for moving!).
We're looking for a friendly housemate (female preferred) - appreciation of cocktails and watching naff telly like Bake Off/Sewing Bee etc is a plus. It's not a party flat (apart from Eurovision!) but we're friendly and social and we'd like to find someone who's not just after a room but a friendly home :) We rent direct from a private landlord, so no going through a managing agent to get anything done - our landlord Nick is really friendly and responsive. Unfortunately per the landlord's request we're looking for a fellow professional only and no couples (although partners are obvs welcome to stay over!). Christy works in VFX and is wfh, and Aggy works in finance (office Mon-Thurs). We rent the flat as whole via a joint contract rather than room by room individual contracts - the contract is for a minimum stay of 6 months. We'd like to have a new housemate who's interested in making the flat their home :)
