Description
Cosy double room available in a light filled two bedroom flat. The room is fully furnished: standard size double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and desk. The flat is on the top floor of a red brick Victorian mansion block on Prince of Wales Drive and has a large shared living room with windows looking out onto Battersea Park. You would be sharing the living room, kitchen and bathroom with me, your friendly live in landlady :) The flat has double glazed sash windows throughout; there is a washer/dryer, a dishwasher and a fairly ancient TV. The £1050 monthly rent is for 1 person, and includes bills. The block has daytime porterage, locked basement storage space for residents' bicycles, and friendly neighbours.
Battersea Park is just across the road, with tennis courts, cafe, the boating lake, the Millenium Arena athletics arena, and the Peace Pagoda. The park is great for all kinds of sport, meeting up with friends, picnics, people watching and gorgeous sunsets over the Thames. The awesome Battersea Power Station is a ten minute stroll though the park. The local neighbourhood has a lot to offer and public transport will get you anywhere you need to go in London.
Tube & Overground:
Battersea Power Station tube station (Zone 1, Northern Line) is a nine minute walk. Battersea Park and Queenstown Road rail stations (both Zone 2) are a four and six minute walk respectively. Battersea Park rail station is one stop from Victoria Station and the Victoria, Circle and District lines, and one stop from Clapham Junction, and the London Overground. Queenstown Road connects to Waterloo, Vauxhall & Clapham Junction.
The bus stops just round the corner - 44, 137, 156, 452, 344, 436 (N44 & N137) - connect to Oxford Circus, Victoria, Marble Arch, Vauxhall, South Kensington, Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove, Kensal Rise, Liverpool Street, Clapham Junction, Clapham Common, Wandsworth, Peckham, Streatham, Lewisham and Wimbledon.
Bicycling? There is locked space for residents' bikes in the basement. There's a Santander bike stand one minute walk away at Queens Circus, and two others within five minutes walk.
Car parking & charging: a resident's annual parking permit for the street can be purchased from Wandsworth Council. There are three electric charging points just opposite the block.
About me: I've lived in the flat for seven years. I enjoy hiking, cooking, reading, cinema, theatre, yoga. I work full time in an NHS community health team, 8.30 - 5, Mon-Fri, I don't work shifts or weekends. I get around London on my bike. I'm definitely not a racer, my bike is ancient and has a wicker basket. Feeling comfortable and relaxed at home is important to me and so I'm looking for someone who is responsible, friendly, clean & tidy, with a sense of humour, and who’s easy to share space with. Happy with someone who wfh for up to three days / week, but no more than that: otherwise home can start feeling like office space. The room is for one person only: no couples.
If you'd like to see the room, or if you have any questions, please get in touch, & do include some information about you.
