Description
Hey, I'm Olly and I'm looking for a flatmate to share this amazing apartment with. I love living here. It's in a great location by the river and feels like a real home unlike many flatshare situations. There are no agents involved and the landlord is lovely. I've tried to include as much info as possible but send me a message if you have more questions.
- Large bedroom (with king size bed) available in August 2024
- Mid-century apartment in friendly Bermondsey housing block
- Sharing with only one other tenant (me). Lots of detail about me down at the bottom of this ad.
Sadly my current flatmate is moving out soon to live with his girlfriend, so I'm looking for someone similarly chilled and considerate to share the flat with from the beginning of August.
- Landlord happy to discuss length of tenancy but preference would be 6month minimum and then rolling contract if wanting to continue
- £1200 per month.
- Bills not included. Usually around £130pm each for everything but can vary a little. (Council Tax Band: B). Happy to provide breakdown of typical bills.
Transport/Local Area
---
Surprisingly central location. The flat is less than 5mins walk from Bermondsey Underground (Jubilee line). One stop to London Bridge station. Or scenic 15min walk along the river to Rotherhithe for Overground to Shoreditch, Dalston & Highbury in one direction, or Peckham, Dulwich etc in the other. Quick and easy to get almost anywhere.
Loads of great local places for food and drink. Maltby Street Market and the Bermondsey beer mile. is walking distance. Borough Market not far. Elephant, Peckham and Deptford are all very close by bus. And Canada Water is convenient for big shops too.
Also very close to Southwark Park which has tennis courts, running track, cricket pitch, football field, small gallery and café.
The Room
---
The available room is actually the master bedroom so it has lots of space and storage. Furnished with king size bed and plenty of room for other furniture. It also has a large inbuilt storage cupboard (see floorplan in the pics). Other furnishings can be discussed with landlord.
The flat also has other useful storage areas in the hallway we can share, so you don't have to squeeze everything just in your room.
Living Room
---
We have a large light-filled living room with a balcony and views onto gardens on both sides. Large wall-mounted tv, comfy sofas etc.
Kitchen
---
Great kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, tall freestanding fridge-freezer, induction hob (requires specific pans) and excellent oven. Honestly bigger than it looks in the picture. Well stocked with plates, cutlery, pans etc which I'm happy to share* but also space for more.
Bathroom-Toilet
---
Bathroom has a unique bath/shower setup (in a positive/fun way) and lots of useful storage spaces. Toilet is in a separate room.

Would be great to know a bit about you. Keen to find someone I'll get on with. We certainly don't have to be best friends but I want it to be relaxed and easy for both of us. My current flatmate has been friendly and tidy and that's really all I want.
I'm open to all: people of any gender, background, occupation and sexuality. If we can both communicate openly then I think it will work out fine.
*Annoyingly I have a food allergy, so hoping to share with someone considerate in the kitchen. Definitely don't expect you to change your diet, but just to keep the kitchen clean after cooking and use separate pans when necessary. It won't affect me if you eat the thing near me so don't worry about it restricting you in that way.
A little more about me:
I have fairly broad interests:
- history, architecture, film, biology, football, tennis, cycling, yoga, cooking, gardening.
I work for an Arts organisation. I'm usually working at home a maximum of 2 days a week but it does vary. Try to avoid using the living room as an office so never take work calls in there etc.
I play football each week and cycle to get around (external bike storage available so doesn't take up valuable space in the flat). I also play tennis if you're keen.
I'm honestly very easy going and friendly, but want the flat to be a clean, pleasant place to relax in. Hoping for someone who wants the same, who will help keep it nice without the need for overbearing rotas and awkward conversations.
I'm a fairly quiet person but occasionally have friends over in the evening or at the weekend for dinner, to watch a big football match or a film, or just to generally hang out. Obviously you should feel comfortable doing the same. It will be your home too!
Look forward to hearing from you.
