My lovely flatmates are moving out so I am looking for 3 new flatmates (a couple & a solo) to join me in this flat 😊
LOCATION 🏢
This 3 bedroom flat is located in a residential area in South Bermondsey (SE 16) which is a:
- 8 minute walk from Surrey Quays Overground station, one stop away (or 17 minute walk) from Canada Water station (on the Overground, Jubilee lines);
- 3 minute walk from the nearest bus stop for buses 1 and 381 which takes you to Soho through to Hampstead Heath, and easily to other locations via connecting buses;
- 20 minute tube ride or bike to the City of London and Canary Wharf;
- 1 suburb away from London Bridge.
For everyday shopping, we are a 10 minute walk to Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, which has a big Tesco Extra, Boots, Poundland, a 7 minute walk to Lidl and just down the road from a 24h Costcutters for all your grocery needs. There are also retail shops (eg. Next, New Look, River Island), Specsavers and O2 phone store.
Next to the Shopping Centre is also a street with more shops, restaurants and cafes! There are also other amenities nearby such as a GP, post offices and drycleaner, and the gorgeous Southwark Park.
THE FLAT 🏡
The flat is on the top floor of a quiet and modern apartment building with a balcony. It is well-lit with large windows offering views of the surroundings (can even see the London Eye!). It gets lots of sun and is nice and warm – great for the energy bills in the chilly UK winters. There is also a bike shed (with a lock) behind the building.
We have a nice spacious open plan living & dining area and kitchen which is fully furnished, including a tv. The kitchen has all the main essentials e. g. microwave, toaster, kettle, cutlery and crockery (which is shared amongst the flat), fridge/freezer, oven, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer and clothes horse.
THE ROOMS 🛏️
Room 1: (for a solo)
The bedroom comes fully furnished with a double bed, integrated drawers within the bed frame, bed side table, wardrobe and a full length mirror. The room has floor to ceiling windows with similar views as from the living room.
You will be sharing a large bathroom (bath/shower and toilet) with two other people.
Room 2: (for a couple)
The bedroom comes fully furnished with a double bed, integrated drawers within the bed frame, bed side table, wardrobe and a full length mirror. The room has floor to ceiling windows with similar views as from the living room.
You will be sharing a large bathroom (bath/shower and toilet) with 1 other person.
PRICES 💰
The rent for Room 1 is £885 + bills per month (for a solo)
The rent for Room 2 is £1,465 + bills per month (for a couple)
Bills come to approx £90 per person per month (£9.25 fibre internet, £9.25 water, £45 council tax, power which averages around £20 a month and £5 for shared flat essentials).
Deposit will be 5 weeks’ rent.
LEASE TERM 📆
Please note that you will each be signing a 12 month lease commencing 6 November 2024.
MOVE-IN DATE 🧳
The rooms are available from 6 November 2024 with a 12 month contract.
ABOUT YOU 👯♀️
I am looking for flatmates who are friendly, clean and tidy, sociable but also equally respectful of each other’s space. I am from New Zealand and have been in London for 2 years. I’ve been living in this flat this whole time and love this place so would like to live with people who also want to treat the flat like a home.
As this has always been a household of young working professionals in our late 20s and early 30s working hybrid full-time, preference would be for those in a similar position, aged 22-35 i. e. a single female flatmate, & a couple.
Important note: You will need to be earning 30x your share of the monthly rent to pass landlord referencing (for the couple’s room, the couple must have a salary which, combined, equals 30x of the monthly rent).
If you:
a) don’t meet the salary requirements; or
b) don't have a job yet; or
c) are on a fixed term contract ending before Nov 2025; or
d) will still be on a probation period in your job,
you’ll either need to have a UK based guarantor who earns 35x your share of the monthly rent OR pay 6 months’ rent upfront. Sorry about that.
You must also have the right to live and work in the UK.
No pets or smokers sorry.
