Description
Spacious Double Room on a Houseboat – Permanent Mooring
We’re looking for a new flatmate to join our community on a beautiful houseboat with a permanent mooring.
The available room is the largest bedroom on the boat, with large windows, lots of natural light, and a walk-in wardrobe — a rare bonus in boat living. The boat has four bedrooms, two communal living rooms, and two shared bathrooms, so there’s plenty of space to relax as well as socialise.
One of the real highlights is the very large roof terrace, which we use year-round and love turning into a mini garden in the summer, growing flowers and vegetables. It’s also great for BBQs, dinners, and sunset hangs.
The moorings are friendly and community-oriented, making this a great fit for someone who enjoys socialising while also being considerate of neighbours and shared spaces.
You’d be living with:
• Nikola, an architectural designer working with stone and ceramic
• Jack, who works at the Royal Opera House
• Eugene, a tree surgeon and consultant
We’re into sauna-ing, running, art and boat life. We currently go to local saunas and have been chatting about the idea of adding a sauna to the boat in the future.
We’re looking for a professional, chilled, easy-going person who cleans up after themselves. We do have a weekly cleaner, but boat life does come with a few extra shared responsibilities compared to a traditional flat — things like pumping out, getting diesel, and small maintenance jobs, all shared between flatmates.
Bills & shared costs are split evenly and are generally reasonable:
• Diesel: approx. £100 every 2.5 months in winter, and less in summer
• Pump-out: £5 total every 10 days
• Cleaner: £10 each per week
• Electricity: approx. £150 per person every 3 months
• Water: included in the rent
We occasionally host dinner parties or BBQs, but always check in with each other in advance and stay mindful of work schedules.
If you’re into alternative living, enjoy being part of a community, and want a calm but social home on the water, we’d love to hear from you. Please drop us a message telling us a little bit about yourself :)
