2.5 month Double Room, Vicky Park + BG tube (5min)

2.5-month sublet from 21st November - 9th Feb (flexibility on dates/possibility of extension/taking over contract from February):
Double room 5 mins walk from Bethnal Green station, furnished, sharing with Bertille and Lidya in a 3 bedroom flat in Bethnal Green (E2 9NX). The rent is £1000 per month, including all bills. Available because I’ve been testing out life back in the EU over the summer and now decided to move to Berlin.

The Flat: A well-kept stylish (second floor) maisonette in Bethnal Green, 5 minutes walk from Victoria Park, Cambridge Heath station and Bethnal Green tube stop. It’s incredibly well-located but extremely quiet. There is a lockable, covered, bike storage rack, and an allotment that is free to get involved with.

The downstairs consists of a large living room - it’s south-facing so gets lots of natural light throughout the day and leads onto a balcony with a view of open space - trees and the such. There is a TV (with plenty of streaming offerings), and a decent sound system (with vinyl player). The kitchen has modern appliances including an induction cooker, dishwasher and washing machine with a built-in tumble dryer.

The Room: Small/medium in size, and comes with a standard (4ft 6/1.3m) double bed, and chest of drawers. The room doesn't have a desk so isn't ideal for a WFH-set-up.

The current Housemates:

Bertille - 26 years old from France, a junior in Investment. New to the UK and can usually be found driving from one traditional British town to another traditional British town at the weekends, and attending cultural activities during the week.

Lydia - 30 years old from Australia: "I work at an advertising agency in Paddington (yes, a bit of a mission) and tend to WFH on Fridays. When I'm not working, I enjoy checking out the sights in London, going out for dinner/drinks with friends, nice walks along the canal or in the park, hunting down deals for weekends away, hitting the gym, and of course relaxing with a bit of a Netflix binge".

They’re both easygoing, and have their own lives and groups of friends in London, but enjoy cooking together; watching movies; dissecting each other’s dating lives; etc. ;-)

Looking for the usual: someone who has their own life but who won’t lock themselves in their room and wants to engage with the house as a home; who is kind, open-minded, considerate, clean and tidy, and doesn’t flip their lid if someone forgets to wash up a coffee mug after a tough day. They both enjoy hosting friends for dinner of an evening, or checking out the latest episode of Googlebox, and so are looking for someone who won’t be regularly working from home after 18:00.

The Attractions:

A few minutes away from Victoria Park and Regents canal. Columbia Road Flower Market and Broadway Market are both just 12 mins on foot. There are a few gyms, York Hall leisure centre with pool (and spa), and The London Buddhist Centre within a 5-minute walk. Tesco, Co-Op, Sainsbury’s and various specialist food stores are all within a 7-minute walk. Obviously, there are good restaurants, bars and literally myriad pubs nearby.

The flat is with a private landlord who is really engaged and attentive. You will be named on the tenancy agreement to provide you with security for the whole period; the rent will be paid on the 23rd of November, December and £500 on 23rd January for the remainder of the time. The £950 deposit will be paid when you move in with the first rent. We are looking to have everything sorted as soon as possible.
