Description

Hello potential new friend!

We are Ashleigh and Tom and we are looking for someone to join our intentional, communal home that is more than just people who happen to split the rent.

When we say ‘intentional' and 'communal’ we mean a household and housemates that value and support one another, that cook together and share meals (at least once a week), that make time to hang out with one another (from kitchen dance parties to nude life drawing), that care about our home and work to make it beautiful, encourage healthy vulnerability, and that host friends at our place for whatever reason (summer solstice, Twilight movie marathon, house parties) Essentially, people that have the intention to make something great, commit to and work towards it.

If this sounds like your vibe, please get in touch 🙂 Please tell us who you are, why this resonates with you and, most importantly, what would the theme of our housewarming party be? 🌝🌸🐁🪼🚲🪁🎨🛝

A bit about us:
We found each other first to start an intentional community and then went out to find a flat. We have created this home together and want to invite someone else in wants to continue to co create with us.

A bit about Ash:
🦄 I am an extrovert who likes to dance badly, host seasonal celebrations with her pagan friends and make random art and crafts.
🇺🇳I work on climate change things
🌳 nature and dress-up is my favourite
🌈 I am a queer, poly 31 year old (she/her)
🐈 I would really like to get a cat

A bit about Tom:
🧌 I love trying new things such as Ceilidh dancing, making sushi, and Dungeons & Dragons
✏️ I work in education (primarily primary)
🎭 I love art and theatre and all things creative
🏳️‍🌈 I am a queer 28 year old (he/him)
🐶 more of a dog person, but I'm coming around to cats

The practicalities:
- 3 bedroom apartment with one bathroom (shower and bath) and one half-bathroom
- located very close to Columbia Road Flower Markets and Hoxton Overground station
- Rent is £916.67 and bills are ~£96 per month (electricity, water, internet, gas)
- timeline: our current housemate, Emily, will be moving out at the beginning of October and we would like to have someone move in as soon after this date as possible
- unfortunately you would need to earn a minimum of £31k per annum to ‘pass affordability’ (according to the agency). Benefits are not accepted 😞
- deposit is £1,173.01
- accessibility information: the flat is up two flights of stairs. The toilet, kitchen and living room are all on the first level when you come in, the bedrooms and second full bathroom are up two more flights of stairs.
- the flat is managed by an agency and we are renting from them. So far the agency has been really good at responding to issues and sending in plumbers pronto to unblock drains or checking that fire alarms are up to scratch etc.

Can’t wait to hear from you lovely people!
