Description
Flatmates needed in peaceful flat!
Contact me for viewings!
Location is great, you can get to work in central London in a matter of minutes either cycling or with the Central Line (Bethnal Green station). Area is amazing with everything you’d need, grocery stores, cafés, restaurants and bars 2 min away walking. The Regent’s canal is 5mins away.
- Broadway market: 4mins cycling, 13 walking.
- Bethnal Green station (central line): 4mins cycling, 14 walking.
- Brick Lane: 7mins cycling, 28 walking.
- Spitalfields: 13mins cycling, 31 walking.
- Liverpool Street station: 14mins cycling, 34 walking.
The room is very large, with a table and two benches, super-king size bed, great mattress, and beddings if you need.
I can change the table to a bigger / higher table if you plan to work from home a lot. However … know that the table and the two benches are exactly at the right height for most people to work extremely comfortably on a laptop … on either benches (unless you are a giant taller than me 6’2”?) ... —> By pulling the table closer to you and letting both your palms rest on your laptop, your arms are at rest while typing …. and your back has excellent support on both benches, it’s unbelievably comfy, SO RELAXING! …. I set it up exactly for work on the laptop.
So I personally don’t recommend getting a higher desk… Being a software dev, I’ve worked on this table for countless hours (used to be my room) and I have never had a more relaxing setup, better way of sitting at my laptop — you can try when you come in person …. and decide if you really want to add a desk or not!
The room is furnished, but we can make any changes you want, just let me know if you have your own furniture or need something changed or added in the room.
Couples are welcome for this room, since the room is so big (old living room). You can eat very comfortably at the table; and also both work on the laptop at that table.
All bedrooms have a lock on the door.
Flatmates: There are 3 rooms to rent in total in the flat. So we’d be 3 with you (or 4 if you are a couple, in this bigger room). I’d like to have great flatmates, calm and respectful of course.
The balcony is only for Claire’s room now — for privacy reasons, because it’s right in front of her window. So the second, bigger room that is available right now doesn’t have access to the balcony anymore, I installed a telescopic wardrobe in front of the balcony door now, for more storage… honestly since it’s bigger and has a little table with benches I think it’s absolutely fine, you will get just as much sun sitting in front of your own window by the table! It’s a really comfy spot for working. Sorry for those who really wanted the balcony with this room, it just doesn’t work to share it, it’s honestly kind of awkward for everyone involved.
Kitchen is small but great, gas stove/oven, washer-dryer machine (machine is a combo washer-dryer, so drying often needs to finish on coat hangers, or on the front balcony/entrance … or like me use the dehumidifier in your room, I have a spare one if you need).
Something important to mention, esp in London: there is zero mould in this flat. And I’d like to keep it that way: simply turn the fans on, in the kitchen and bathroom if you generate water vapour, or use the dehumidifier if you dry a lot of clothes in your room — and all is good!
About the area if you’re new to London: it’s a very hip neighbourhood (Bethnal Green / Broadway Market), close to great parks, cafes, stores, museums, etc just minutes away walking. It’s very close to Shoreditch also, and imo it’s the best area in London for atmosphere and access to services, etc.
NOTE: I only ask for one month notice, and short term stays are fine — there is no minimum stay; if you don’t like it or find better …. That’s fine, you can move out within 30 days. The deposit goes towards your last month of rent, after you give your notice. You are also allowed to sublet your room if you go on holidays or back home for some time, that’s fine. Let me know if you have any questions!
