Description
Double room in a large two-bedroom flat in a modernist building in Bethnal Green, a few hundred yards from Victoria Park and the Regents Canal, and a short walk to Shoreditch, London Fields and Broadway Market.
My current flatmate is moving out so I’m looking for someone to replace her. The flat was formerly the home of an architect (our current landlord) who preserved the original features while adding a series of playful interventions.
Located on the fifth floor, and south facing we get lots of sun, with views to Canary Wharf and the open spaces surrounding the building. There’s a separate living room and fitted kitchen, with a full-size fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and heaps of cupboard space for two people.
There’s lots of storage so there’s no need for using bedrooms for storing suitcases etc. The flat also has a winter garden which allows the living room to be opened up to the outside when it’s warm.
The room itself is large with more than enough space for a king-sized bed, desk and wardrobe. There’s also a space off the entry which can be used as a walk-in wardrobe. The room comes unfurnished, though my flatmate is happy to sell her bed frame.
Bills are £150 per month each for everything (water, energy, council tax, internet) and the flat is super warm, so we rarely need heating outside of Dec-Feb when bills are a little higher. Council tax is band B.
Transport links are: Bethnal Green tube station (Central line) 8-10 minutes, and Cambridge Heath Overground maybe 12 minutes, with Shoreditch a 25-minute walk away.
About me:
Originally from Australia, I’ve lived in London for ten years. I am a creative director at a creative content agency, so work pretty standard hours, predominately at the office, but I’ll do a few days from home here and there if I’m putting together a pitch or script. I also don’t work Fridays, so will normally be about until midday.
Otherwise, I am usually pretty busy, but do ring-fence some downtime to have a lazy read on the sofa or to watch a movie. I’m into art, culture, fashion, food etc, obviously no matter if you are not, but I can imagine this would be a great flat for another creative or professional with some overlapping interests.
