A beautiful double bedroom is available in my bright two bedroom flat in East London, set within a secure eco friendly development on the Regents Canal. The flat will feel very much like your own because I live in Oxford and only come to London once or twice per month, sometimes with my gentle dog. It is an ideal home for people who value space, comfort, calm, and lots of natural light.
The bedroom itself is generous and very well organised, with a large built in wardrobe, an additional antique wardrobe, under bed storage, and bespoke shelves and cupboards. You also have direct access to the south facing balcony which fills the room and living space with sunlight throughout the day.
The flat is spacious, around 68 square metres, with an open plan kitchen and dining corner, floor to ceiling windows, and a warm plant filled atmosphere. The balcony overlooks the canal and has open views towards Mile End Park, Queen Mary University and Canary Wharf. Although there is a rail line nearby which you can hear when sitting outside, it becomes background noise very quickly. The building is well insulated and soundproof, and was a finalist for the Sustainable Housing Award. There is Hyperoptic fibre internet, secure entry, bicycle stands in the basement car park, and a helpful concierge team.
The location is one of the greenest and friendliest corners of East London. Mile End Park, Meath Gardens and Victoria Park are all moments away, with Brick Lane, Shoreditch, Broadway Market, Columbia Road Flower Market, art studios, cafes and the London Buddhist Centre within easy walking distance. The Mile End Climbing Wall with its new sauna facilities is just across the canal.
Transport links are excellent, with a eight minute walk to Mile End station on the Central, District and Hammersmith and City lines, and about ten minutes to Bethnal Green station. There are also multiple bus routes and a direct National Express service to Stansted Airport.
You would be sharing the flat with me, a landscape architect who is mostly based in Oxford. I stay in the smaller second bedroom when I visit, usually once or twice per month. My two year old Yakutian Laika will also visit from time to time. She is calm, affectionate and very well behaved. Most of the time the flat will be entirely yours. A cleaner comes every two weeks and this is included in the rent.
