You would be sharing the property with the owner of the flat, who is a landscape architect passionate about travel, volunteering and the environment.
The property is a spacious 2 bedroom flat (68m2 + large balcony) in a secure new build property with concierge, located on the Regent’s Canal and surrounded by nature: Mile End Park, Meath Gardens and just a few minutes walk to Victoria Park.
The flat is well connected with the public transport: 7min walk to Mile End tube station (Central, Hammer’s&City, District Line) or 10min walk to Bethnal Green tube station. With buses & National Express bus to Stansted Airport.
You are in East London with lots of green spaces around, with its markets, cafes, art studios, Brick Lane, Columbia Road Flower Market, Shoreditch, Broadway Market, London Buddhist Centre etc. There is a nice Italian restaurant for enthusiastic foodies in the building and the fantastic Mile End Climbing Wall with their new sauna facilities just across the canal.
Flat is clean and contemporary. Always bright as it is south facing, with many plants, open plan kitchen, dining corner and floor to ceiling windows. There is a large balcony overlooking the canal and open green space towards Mile End Park, Queen Mary University Camus and Canary Wharf.
Unfortunately there is a rail line which is noticeable if sitting on the balcony, but one gets used to it very quickly.
Another disturbance is the cladding works which will be carried on for a few months this year - wooden decking on the balcony will be replaced with non combustible one.
Building was a finalist for the Sustainable Housing Award. Due to the quality of make and the spatial orientation towards the sun there is almost no need for heating. All energy is brought 100% from renewable sources. Flat is very well insulated and soundproof.
There are bicycle stands in the basement car park to leave your bike, fast internet connection with Hyperoptic fiber broadband and a secure entry phone system.
Your room has a double bed with under storage, wardrobe, shelves and drawers.
You must be a dog lover as you will also live with a beautiful 6 month old female dog, a Yakutian Laika, very well trained and loving people and other dogs and cats.
The rent is £950pm + bills = £1100 per month with all bills included for a single person.
I work mostly from home (in the office only once or twice a week) but I do travel often. It would be ideal if the future flatmate would also travel and would not work from home.
