Description
Hi! My name's Nic and I've just moved into this great flat and am therefore looking for someone to share it with me. I really would like to find someone that wants a home (not just a room) so I'm going to be quite specific about me, the flat and what I'm looking for, like that - you'll know if it's for you or not!
I've literally just moved in (20th June) so do get in touch soon if you want to come to visit!
The flat (and room):
The flat itself is pretty much perfect from my point of view! It's exactly what I've been looking for since I moved to London 18 months ago. I know it's not cheap but London doesn't seem to do bargains in terms of accommodation, though I think this place is worth it! The house is a 5 minute walk from Greenwich park, 10 minutes walk from Blackheath Village and 15 minutes walk from Greenwich.
It's on the top two floors of a period house, which is split into flats. The flat has two floors so feels more like a house than a flat. There is a large living/dining area with a kitchen adjoined. The two double bedrooms are both large rooms and have their own bathrooms, which are not adjoined. There is a small balcony off the living room, which faces south and looks onto the communal garden which is immaculately looked after. There is one car parking space outside which I'll use for my car however street parking is available outside and is free of charge (no permit).
Sooo... me:
I'm a 29 year old professional who works out of London City Airport (I'm a pilot), I only moved to London 18 months ago but feel at home in Blackheath, having lived there for the last year. My main interests are cycling, sports (mostly football) and music (guitar and piano) but also enjoy visiting different areas of London and its attractions with friends. I see myself as friendly, easy going with a good sense of humour. My girlfriend lives in Paris, so sometimes she comes to visit or I'm there for the weekend. At the same time, it'd be totally fine with me if you want friends/family over to visit at weekends. Also, with work I'm away from home on average two nights per week, sometimes more, sometimes less. With this in mind, you'll have the place to yourself a lot of the time.
You:
My ideal housemate would be clean and tidy (though not obsessively!), easy going, have a good sense of humour and sociable but not too much of an every night party animal as I'm sometimes in bed early for work, potentially any day of the week. It would be cool if you were around from time to time for dinner at home, a few pints in the pub or perhaps to watch sport/movie together. Obviously everyone's got their own lives but I'd really like this place to be a home rather than a place to just crash. I don't want to just rent out this room, I want to share this place with someone on an equal basis and make living there as enjoyable as possible.
Other stuff:
I have all the furniture for the communal areas (lounge/dining room and kitchen) but no spare stuff for your bedroom, so you should expect to provide your own bed and furniture etc. This stuff isn't majorly expensive if you look at ebay/ikea etc.
If you don't know Blackheath, I can tell you that it's a lovely part of south east London, a similar vibe to Greenwich but with less tourists. There are lots of independent cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. It has a large open grass common which makes the whole place feel nice and spacious. It has great transport links into London, with trains to Victoria, London Bridge and Waterloo or regular buses to north greenwich tube on the Jubilee line. It's 25 minutes to get from here to Canary Wharf.
I really think that if this sounds like your type of place you will almost certainly like it. The rent is already reduced because the owner is not using an agency and I have also negotiated a small discount whilst signing for a two year lease. For this reason, I'm afraid I won't be able to reduce the rent further I'm afraid.
I would really it appreciate if all interested people could just send a message talking about themselves (occupation, hobbies etc) and why you're leaving you're current place.
Feel free to fire me any questions either by email or text. Cheers for reading!
