Description
Come live with us! Looking for a fun and sociable (but also house-trained and respectful) addition to our home. Either short term (2 months plus - unsure of your plans or fancy checking out East London?) or longer term welcome.
The house
Plenty spacious enough for four people with a large living room, eat-in kitchen and conservatory. Each housemate has a decent-sized bedroom and there is a full bathroom and a separate toilet, separate utility room and a shed with space for a bike each.
The house is cosy in winter and it’s awesome in summer with a spacious, well-lit garden which wraps around the (end-of-terrace) house, Weber barbecue, outdoor corner sofa, tables and lovely big hanging chair. Owner occupied so well looked after.
The house and garden are great for hosting - for (occasional, planned) house parties and for lots of barbecues, dinners and random gatherings and festivities throughout the year. We like to maintain a good balance between a relaxed home and sanctuary and a sociable place - so we let each other know when we're hosting.
We have two beloved (slightly over-indulged) CATS - Oscar and Bella - good for cat lovers, less good for cat-allergic types.
The housemates
Three housemates – Harriet (43, owner, psychotherapy student), Nathan (54, a tweed tailor) and Chris (42, working in travel) – all sociable - particularly within burner / alternative circles as well as travel, sport and culture, restaurants, theatre etc. – and all very much appreciative of more mellow times too.
We enjoy each other’s company and socialise together as suits, though there’s plenty of opportunity for each person to have their own space too.
The room
The room available is on the ground floor, with shutters and doors to the outside. It is recently painted and equipped with a double bed, plenty of shelving and hanging/storage space and a desk and ergonomic desk chair. Extra storage space available in the lofts and landing cupboard.
Location
Great transport links! 26 minutes from house to Oxford Circus via the super-speedy, all-night Victoria line from Blackhorse Road (8 minutes’ walk away)
18 minutes from house to Liverpool St via the Overground train from St James Street station (3 minutes’ away)
It’s also great for cycling, and it’s a surprisingly scenic and peaceful ride South across the marshes and along the canals.
We have THE BEST local “International” supermarket for fresh and cheap food round the corner, Lidl three minutes away plus a huge Sainsburys seven minutes away.
The St James St area of Walthamstow where we're based is transforming rapidly and we recently got our own Crate, plus all the breweries of Blackhorse Road. Soho Theatre Walthamstow, Gods Own Junkyard and the restaurants and bars of Walthamstow Village and Hoe Street are a brief bike ride away too.
Looking for
One more housemate - also somewhere between late 30s and early 50s who is easy-going and sociable and also sufficiently house-trained, tidy and considerate.
Tenancy/costs:
Rent is £725, bills & house supplies are a fixed £200 on top including all the big bills, weekly cleaner, superfast broadband, Prime, Netflix, TV licence, all the cleaning products, laundry detergent, loo roll, kitchen roll, clingfilm, tin foil, olive oil, salt, pepper.....a whole lot of useful home stuff.
Deposit is £725.
Please send a message if this could be of interest, sharing some details about you (including age, work, non-work) and we'd love to hear from you xx
