Description
We have a bright double room to rent in a huge modern four bedroom house by Blackhorse Rd station(Available from 1st Nov, though there is some flex!) We’ll try to organise some time for us to meet in the coming weeks.
The area is full of amazing breweries/wine bars (Big Penny Social, Pretty Decent, Renegade), lots of cute coffee shops by the station (Narrative), Blackhorse Rd workshop cafe and a great deli (Growing communities) and bakery (Wild Grains). Not to mention the new community sauna which is a 10 min walk away! We often go to Lloyd Park market on a Saturday as there’s a cute food market and some great charity shops in the area! It’s also easy enough to go out to Walthamstow Central and check out Soho theatre/The Trades hall etc. The house is in a really calm area and about a 10 min bus ride/15 min walk from Blackhorse Rd station.
We're looking for someone lovely (around 32-40 preferably) to come and join the house share, and we would like to find someone who is friendly, creative, social and wants to be part of our home!
The house is set over three levels and is super spacious, with a really cute garden (so extra points if you're up for helping out with the gardening!) and it’s south facing so a real sun trap. It has a huge modern kitchen with dining table (with 3 fridges, soooo much storage space…and essentially space to dance!) and a really lovely living room we’ve made beautiful (we think!). The whole house was refurbished recently and repainted before we moved in Oct 2025 and we feel like it’s a real home.
The room for rent is a double room and the bed etc is up for sale (at a very reasonable price) or you can bring your own bedroom furniture if you prefer.
There is a huge bathroom (see photo) and a downstairs loo shared between 3. (Lisa has her own en-suite.)
We are a friendly group and we enjoy going for drinks/dinner together when we're all free and during the week we often hang out in the living room/kitchen for a chat/to watch a film. We have our own lives but we like to know what's going on with each other too, so not your usual London house-share, so we hear. There is always some fresh food/freshly baked goods on offer. We also love a dinner party/BBQ /wine/playing the kazoo music game (the best game in existence.) Although we’re not a party house, Lisa hosts a halloween party every year which she takes pretty seriously….so be warned!
Our lovely housemate (Jess) is moving out after 4 years and we’re looking for someone who will fit in nicely in the home we’ve created. (We all lived together in Stoke Newington prior to this house so we’ve become close friends and have built a community of friends and we’re always looking for new friends to add to the mix.)
A quick introduction to us which makes this feel slightly like a dating site....
Housemates:
Lisa (40) Is from the North and works in health Policy (which she struggles to explain to pretty much everyone.) Lisa lived in Paris for 5 years so enjoys anything language based but is also a huge music fan and loves to go out dancing to some dark 80's tunes. She loves Fleetwood Mac, Nick Cave and Bowie to name a few. She‘s also into improv/sitcom writing which you’re likely to hear a lot of stories about! She also enjoys storytelling, yoga and gong baths and also loves to cook and bake.. for everyone! (She recently realised she has over 100 cookbooks and loves planning dinner parties/trying out new recipes!)
Tehya (37) is from California but has lived all over the world the past decade (China, Germany for years and has called London home for the past 3 years.) She’s always up for cooking together, cozy film nights and going out dancing (some of the current favourites are Beauty and the Beat/All our Friends.) She’s an avid reader, sneaks off to musicals and loves to chat about anything that’s on your mind. (We all do, to be honest!)
James (31) works in theatre and music – so a big art-head and a film nerd to boot. But he also loves to talk books, philosophy, and whatever trendy (or better, not-trendy) band you’re listening to at the moment. Attendance at his borderline incomprehensible shows is never mandatory, but always appreciated.
Rent per month is £700, bills are around £120, and we also have a weekly cleaner (£45 per month each) There is a deposit of £1000 which will be put in a security deposit scheme. References are required by the agency. The current landlady is really nice and fixes anything the minute it breaks so that’s been really great.
The room is free from 1st November and rent will need to be paid from this date.
If you're interested, please get in touch with some information about yourself.
Thanks!
Lisa, Tehya and James
