Description
A large double room in a modern house with lots of space (140sqm). A kitchen and garden both ideal for hosting mates. A proper desk in your bedroom if you wfh. Available from now.
I AM LOOKING FOR…
A good housemate. I am in no rush to fill this room so the key thing is that we get along.
YOU MAY LIKE THIS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR…
- Large bedroom in a great location
- A garden for the occasional house BBQ
- Space to host all your fantastic friends
- A living room and a separate kitchen / diner
- Access to 2 bathrooms
- Plants if you enjoy gardening (I do not)
- A gym and supermarket close by
- A shed to hide your embarrassing past hobbies
- Quiet – no traffic noise outside
- A pet-free house (and want to keep it that way)
- Parking space inside c-charge
WE MAY GET ON WELL IF…
- You appreciate cleanliness (dirty is no, messy is fine)
- You’re fairly sociable
- You take yourself very very seriously
- Slamming doors are not in your top 10 favourite percussion instruments
- You tear into your mates a bit and don’t get easily offended
- You feel this room description might have gotten too lengthy (already)
- You are fine to share standard household stuff, e. g. cookware, crockery, toothbrush
TRANSPORT:
- Walking times: Borough tube - 7 mins. Elephant and Castle - 12 min. London Bridge tube / national rail - 15 min. Bank tube - 26 min (12 min by tube)
- There are enough bus routes within 5 mins to fill a small bingo card
- There is a Sadiq Cycle / Boris Bike stand 2 mins away too.
LOCAL AREA: Top schools and croquet lawns nearby. Kidding - but there are good amenities. Located on a quiet estate. Decent enough gym and a few nice parks nearby (e. g. Tabard Gardens). 2 pubs but not close enough to ever hear them. 3 very good restaurants within spitting distance. Sainsbury’s is 2 mins away and shuts at 11pm. Morleys even closer if that’s your thing.
YOUR ROOM: Dimensions are 6.8m by 2.9m with a king sized bed. Room has a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Room has windows on two sides so is nice and bright and also its own desk for wfh. You can also work on the living room desk which has a monitor (or more if you bring your own).
BATHROOMS: House has 3 bathrooms (1 is my ensuite). You are also welcome to colonise the downstairs bathroom that no one uses (which has a shower).
KITCHEN: Comes with all the bells and whistles e. g. sparkling water maker, dishwasher, gas stove, water softener, blender, boiling water tap, underfloor heating. Tumble dryer too in the utility room.
LIVING ROOM: TV. Sofa. Hifi. Bookshelves. Fairly spacious.
HOUSEMATE: I am British Chinese and work in finance. In summary, I make PowerPoint slides to pay bills. I do not self-identify as a finance bro. Interests are “the usual” – any breakdown would look like a generic dating profile (i. e. I am boring).
YOU: Messy is fine, dirty is a big no. Be someone who looks after the place and is respectful to the surroundings. I am looking for one housemate only so no couples please (OK if your gf / bf sleeps over occasionally – if too often I will plot to split you up).
FIT: This is the most important part yet so far down this post. I am looking for someone to be part of a relaxed yet sociable house. Be easy-going but still care. Work is stressful so house is for chill. As you’ll probably notice, I mock nearly everything so we won’t get along if you’re easily offended.
RENT AND BILLS: £340p/w. Sadly this is non-negotiable. I also have an amazing cleaner who comes roughly every 2 weeks. She will also iron if you ask nicely.
Please get in touch with any questions!
