Description

---reposting this as one flatmate fell through, so have one room on the go------

I’m looking for two new housemates to join a warm and friendly three-bedroom home in East London.

More than just filling rooms, I’m hoping to find people who value creating a real home together. In the past years the house has been a place where we share the occasional meal, spend some time together, and where communication and mutual consideration are really important. It’s the kind of household where people feel comfortable leaning in for a hug on a challenging day, while also respecting each other’s independence and space.

The house is an inclusive and welcoming space. I’m part of a large LGBTQIA+ community in London, so the household is naturally very open, respectful and comfortable around diversity.

My current housemates Kirby and Maria are sadly moving out due to changes in their circumstances. We’ve had a really warm and supportive dynamic in the house and I’d love to continue that spirit with the next people moving in.

Another lovely part of the house is our very sunny garden, which I’ve recently started using for a bit of gardening. At the moment there are tomatoes, chillies and strawberries growing, and it would be wonderful to live with people who might enjoy sharing that space too or simply appreciate the little community feel of it.

About me
Marleen (36) – I work full-time as a project manager and am currently studying counselling part-time, finally fully qualified in July. In my free time I enjoy connecting with people, meditating, reading, going to plays, comedy shows and films, spending time in nature, cycling, ecstatic dancing and yoga classes. I enjoy discovering new activities around London and the occasional fun night out dancing.

About the house
It’s a bright three-bedroom house with:
a spacious living room
large kitchen
two bathrooms
plenty of storage (including space for bikes)
a sunny garden

I’ve lived here for three years and have a very good relationship with both the agency and the landlady, who have been great and didn’t increase the rent at the last renewal.

Transport
Parnell Road (Bus 8): 1 min walk
Bow Road (District & Hammersmith & City): 10 min walk
Hackney Wick (Overground): 10 min walk
Mile End / Bethnal Green (Central): 15 min bus

Rent & bills
Rent is £2,900 total per month, split equally between three (£966 each).
Bills are usually up to around £100 per month (slightly less as we build up a credit on our octopus account).

The room will be available from 12 April :)

If this resonates with you, please send a message telling a little about yourself and what kind of home environment you enjoy living in.
