Hi there :)
One of our housemates is sadly moving out, so we are on a quest to find a new housemate. You would take over the remainder of their contract from the 7th of August 2024 till the 7th of December 2025!
We would love to get everything signed and sorted by the end of this month and are planning on hosting viewings this week! All three of us will be present for the viewings — we really value the dynamic we have & would want to find someone we get along with xx
rent/bills:
rent is £825 excluding bills, which are about £90 a month in total (water, wifi, gas, electricity & council tax) and a bit extra in winter. unfortunately, due to the nature of the contract, we'll also need someone on a permanent work contract earning at least £27k
about the house:
the available room shares a floor with two other housemates, is a really lovely size, and overlooks the garden. there's also a good-sized kitchen and really spacious cosy living room that opens onto a large private garden, as well as a full bathroom, an additional downstairs toilet, and an attic room for extra storage (and a skylight in the hall which brings in a lot of natural light!)
about the area:
the house is on a quiet close, the area is very residential & genuinely very lovely to walk around in!! It’s in Mile End (14 min walk from mile end station — central! district/ h&c! — although Emma swears she walks it in 10 when running late and rushing to work // and 12 mins from bow road & bow church - dlr).
most importantly, it's also only 4 mins from a tesco express, some lovely local pubs (the lord tredegar has a house resident cat called beyonce), and the glorious Victoria park & its pubs, sunday market and cafes 15/20min (Sunday debrief at the hub cafe <3)
the buses nearby take us to Hackney/Dalston and Hackney Wick (and back home with the night bus) loads of cool pubs and dance nights, restaurants and wine bars there! can walk along the canal to broadway market also (+ buses to bethnal green/shoreditch)
about us:
we are 3 girls who all met on spareroom back in december & have since become friends <3. Lily (25) is from Guernsey, Emma (22) is half French/half Moroccan and grew up in Vienna, and Jazmine (26) is half Welsh/half Malaysian and recently moved from the US in January :)
we like to chill in the living room and have the occasional movie night (ranging from Godard to silly rom-coms) along with a three-course meal setup that somehow always involves camembert (as well as Jazmine’s silly personality tests ie “what character from [blank] are you?”). oh and the impromptu dance parties for the sporadic bursts of energy!
we enjoy a post-work smoke and drink on the terrace of the morgan arms (soothing for Emma, currently fixated on her hatred of Bardella), some reading at the cosy lord tredegar, eating together (Lily makes honestly life changing kimchi stew), attempting to get alexa to play anything besides pitbull (Emma will definitely show you her playlists and have you heard Julia Holter's new album?? more Jeff Buckley please), gardening (Lily would be very grateful for anyone who can help keep the veg patch alive), and aimlessly roaming around finding new clothes (Jazmine is tired of her clothes, we takes these matters very seriously in this household).
We also all have our own social lives and like to have some time to ourselves to cope with the awful work obligations xx so no pressure to be social when the battery is low </3
about you:
we'd really like to find another girl who's also looking for somewhere cosy and sociable that feels more like a home than just a house share.
as well as being social, we also want a house that is respectful of personal space, clean and tidy but chill etc (all the usual stuff really!). no to tories. lgbtq friendly. we all love picking up new hobbies and sharing niche & creative interests so would love to hear a bit more about you!
we're currently looking at holding viewings on thursday evening and sunday morning this week
