Description
My lovely flatmate is leaving the UK and I am looking for someone to take up the room which will become available from 15th November 2024.
About you - I am ideally looking for a non-smoking, friendly, professional who is clean and tidy (The way the shared spaces look in the pictures is how they always are as we always try to keep things tidy, we clean after ourselves right away and we alternate cleaning the shared areas on a weekly basis). Hopefully someone I can get along well with and even become good friends whilst having our own separate lives and respecting each other.
About me - My name is Omar, a 40-year old lecturer and researcher in the field of digital media, education and immersive technologies. I am a very friendly, easy going, gay guy who enjoys listening to music, going out with friends, having a quiet day at home watching Netflix, playing video games, traveling and cooking.
About the property - This is a very well-maitained furnished flat. There are two bedrooms, a single large bathroom, a relatively large kitchen/living/dining space with plenty of light and a balcony. A gated parking space comes with the rent of the flat, although we are currently letting it to a neighbour, which helps pay part of the monthly bills. Typical appliances found in the property, toaster, microwave oven, dishwasher, washer, fridge, hob, oven, kettle, mixer.
About the room - As seen in the pictures, the room is not massive, but you can fit quite a few things in there. The room comes with a small wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a double bed and mattress (not the one in the picture).
Other matters - Our current contract is valid until 14th July 2026. If you are interested in taking the room, you will deal with the agency that manages the property by providing the usual suspects for the approval by the landloard (letter of recommendation, paying a secured deposit, etc) and you will be added to the running contract. To clarify, we are currently renting the flat, not the individual rooms, that is why you would be added to the current contract.
Rent is due every 15th of the month (we are asked by the agency to make a direct debit every 11th to ensure promt payment. Rent is £1000 a month, there is a deposit of £1154 which we would get back by the end of the tenancy period if we decided to leave the property or if you left before that and found someone to take your place in the contract. Finally, bills (electricity, broadband and council tax - band D) come down to about £115 a month, but that is cut to about half at the moment as we use the money we get from the parking space. Electricity, of course, varies depending on our consumption, particularly around winter as everything in the flat is electric, including heating.
I look forward to hearing from you if interested. Drop me a line and we can arrange a viewing.
