Description
Could you be the newest addition to our East London masseria?
We’re a household of sociable queers who take care of our living space and look out for each other, and we’re on the hunt for two new housemates!
🛏️ The Room:
We have two rooms available from the 1st October in our lovely five-bed flat in the heart of Bow.
Rent for the smaller room is £580, and rent for the larger room is £700.
We’re looking to renew the contract for another year, and so you’d be signing an assured shorthold tenancy contract until next September.
The smaller room is furnished with a small double (queen size) bed, a chest of drawers and small bedside unit. There is also a large storage cupboard with a clothing rail just outside the room for sole use by the occupant.
The larger room comes furnished with a double bed, desk, bedside table and large storage space with a chest of draws inside.
Accessibility info: the flat has ground floor access from the street, but over a ledge so unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. The flat is on two-levels and this bedroom is upstairs, up one internal flight of 13 stairs. No phone entry system or visual & hearing impairment adaptations.
👪 About us:
We're an energetic group who each have our own things going on, but we like cooking meals, watching trash TV and occasionally going out together. This isn't an afters place; we like having people around but also think of the home as somewhere where we come back to relax and unwind. Keeping the flat clean and tidy is important to us.
Some of us work, some of us study, it's a mix of professions and the arts - we’re giving you range.
🏠 About the flat:
• 5 bedrooms, 4 upstairs and 1 downstairs - split on two levels; both bedrooms are up one floor (13 steps).
• Bathroom upstairs, extra toilet downstairs.
• Open kitchen and living room area.
• Two fridge-freezers, washing machine, but no dryer or dishwasher though.
• Communal storage
🗺️ Location: well located in the heart of Bow, 5 min walk from Bow Road station, 8 mins from Mile End station, and 9 mins from Bow Church DLR station; well served by buses too - v easy to get into Central, Hackney and south London. A few nice pubs around, cafes and shops, and a short walk from Roman Road and Victoria Park.
💸 Bills: none included in rent and they come up to approx. £85 pcm - including council tax (band C), internet, energy (gas and electric) and water. Private landlord so no agency fees.
Deposit is £805 for the larger room and £665 for the smaller room, secured in the deposit scheme. The landlord unfortunately doesn't accept housing benefit, and will require references and proof of income.
🔍 About you:
Ideally looking for a queer professional in their late twenties, early-mid thirties. We won't reply to general messages, please tell us a bit about yourself when you get in touch.
*Please also specify which room you’re interested in*
No couples, sorry.

Kip (they/them)
Silly arty trans masc who walks around topless a lot. Studying at Goldsmiths, love films, clubbing, cooking and vintage sportswear (enthusiasm for sports very much not included). Jack of all trades and can be roped into favours with the promise of free food.
Bryony (she/her)
Sociable and easy going, at home I will probably be found pottering around drinking coffee and tending our allotment patch. I work in fashion with a varied schedule (generally not from home). Love to dance, an occasional baker and enjoy a gallery or a pub in equal measure.
Jamie (she/her)
PR girlie, currently working for a mental health charity. Learning Italian and will tell you about it at any given opportunity. Enjoys an emotional deep dive over breakfast in the kitchen. Into literature, art, running and politics.
