Description
Hello. I’m Cicely. Looking for someone friendly, kind, chill, clean and tidy, all those lovely things - at least most of the time - to live with me in my cute little ex-council flat in Bow on first and second floor of a small 2 floor block on a bigger estate. No flats above, trees behind, please note there is no lift up to first floor.
The room is upstairs, a small double with built-in cupboard with hanging space, double bed, some wall shelves and large chest of drawers. There’s also (just) space for a small foldaway desk if you need - see photos.
I’ve renovated a bit since I’ve been here so hopefully it’s cosy to live in. All the floors are new and I recently replaced all the windows too. I’d love to live with someone who’ll look after it with me. Cleaning is a DIY situation, no cleaner. And I like to keep it nice, so you should expect that.
There’s a separate kitchen and living room, which both have tables in. But realistically it’s not a huge place and I end up working from home quite a bit at the moment so I’m looking for someone who doesn’t work from home - it’s just too small. Or if they do occasionally, they’re fine to use the little desk in their room. Also would suit a fairly minimal person because I’m afraid I’ve filled the place up with all sorts of accumulated material nonsense so I can’t offer lots of storage space beyond your bedroom. Obviously you’ll have your own cupboard in the kitchen and shelves in the fridge and the bathroom etc.
It’s about 3 minutes walk from Roman Road and the good things there like People’s Wine bar, Mae + Harvey cafe, Bard bookshop, the G Kelly Pie and Mash shop, Breadery bakery, a Tesco, Nur Falafel, a Turkish bakery that does freshly made gozleme, a Superdrug, Inci Asian food shop, Vicolo Romano pizza and various grocers. It’s 10 mins walk from Victoria park with Sunday market and Pavilion cafe etc. Also within v close walking distance are pubs including lovely Lord Tredegar, Green Goose and Morgan Arms, as well as slightly further afield the Mile End climbing wall and sauna, iconic Palm Tree pub on the canal and Mile End cemetery park. The Royal Mail delivery office is even just over the road for when you missed your parcel!
Transport is good - 12 mins walk from Mile End tube station where you can get Central, District and Hammersmith and City lines. Also 277 bus goes to Hackney/Dalston. One tube stop away from Stratford with Westfield, Vue etc if you need a shopping mecca.
I’m 36, queer, work in tv drama/film and also for a refugee cookery charity and also doing a course in organic growing 🌱😌. Life is generally quite busy atm. I like reading, drawing, watching things including films, plays, tv, gigs and people, swimming anywhere I can, running (slowly and puffily), hiking, dancing, travelling, lying around in the sun or on the sofa, cooking, eating, eating, eating, art galleries, my community garden, saunas and galloping very fast on a horse somewhere beautiful for a big holiday treat. I have friends round now and again for dinner. I like to have a bath, pescatarian 🤪 All this kind of thingggg.
I speak French and quite bad, but enthusiastic, Spanish (would love someone to practise with!).
Things that might possibly happen one day are I foster a cat, or live away for a bit and need to sublet my room. Just giving fair warning to make sure you’d be comfortable.
Please tell me about you. I’ll do viewings
and look forward to meeting you.
Sorry, no couples - it’s not big enough for 3.
Rent is £770 plus bills which are around £150 but fluctuate between winter and summer as mad things continue to happen to energy prices, so changes will be reflected. I handle all that stuff so you don’t have to worry.
Deposit - one month’s rent (excl bills). Room available from 26 Sept and need someone who can move in by 3rd October latest . Gotta pay the mortgage, sorry.
