Description
Hey! We're looking for a new long-term flatmate to take over our flatmate's contract starting on the 2nd of July.
- About the room:
The room is a large double room. It gets lots of sun and light (which is great when that winter depression is hitting).
It also has a balcony.
The room is semi-furnished; it comes with a really large double bed and a couple of wardrobes, and it has a closet, so plenty of storage!
- About the flat:
This is a lovely flat, super sunny and bright, organised throughout two floors; the first one is the kitchen, living room, toilets and shared balcony. Upstairs are the rooms and the bathroom.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all you might need (washing machine, dishwasher, pans, pots, rice cooker, instant cooker...)
The flat is located in an amazing location, we're right next to Victoria Park and the canals; there are so many things to do around (especially on weekends with all the markets)! And we're a walk away from Hackney, Hackney Wick and London Fields/Broadway Market.
- Transport:
You can get to central London super easily by bus; the bus stop is right next to our flat, and it takes about 20 minutes to get to Liverpool Street and 40 minutes to get to Holborn.
Otherwise, we're a 10-15min walk away from the Mile End tube station (Central, District, Hammersmith & City lines) and 10 to 15 minutes walk to the Hackney Wick Overground (Mildmay lines)
- About us:
You'll be joining Jack and Marine. We've been living in this flat for almost two years now.
Jack (he/him), 26, urban planner and been in London for a few years. Living around this part of East London is great — it’s nice and easy to cycle around the neighbourhood, and there’s plenty of good grocers & food spots. I spend most of my free time either out and about in London (if not further afield) or cooking up a nice meal’
Marine (she/her) 24, finishing my Master's in Media and Communications at LSE. I love living here, it's the perfect balance of city and nature, and there's so much to do. I enjoy spending time in Victoria Park, walking or very slowly running, hitting the markets on the weekend and going to the Barbican, while starting a new craft every week.
- About you:
We're looking for someone social and open to chat and get to know everyone.
But also respectful and socially aware; we have a weekly cleaning schedule, and we clean up after ourselves. The walls in the flat are super thin; we're looking for someone whose schedule aligns with ours and is aware of the noise they make/careful about it. During the week, we wake up around 6/7 am, and we go to sleep around 10/11 pm.
This is not a party flat, and we try to be mindful about inviting guests over.
Preferably not a completely work-from-home situation, but hybrid is completely okay!
- Bills
The rent is £1100 per month, bills not included.
Bills usually amount to a little bit less than £100 per month, per person, with Council Tax being £45. (Included in the total of bills)
If you're interested, send us a message telling us a bit more about yourself (why you're in London, how long you're aiming to stay, your schedule and hobbies!) and any questions you might have!
This is a queer household.
PS: It's not Jack in the picture :')
