Description
Hi! I'm looking for a flatmate to move into my spare room, a lovely, light, south-facing double room. Loads of storage - chest of drawers, wardrobe, and 4 large drawers under the bed. Although it's a 3 bedroom property, it will just be me and you as I use one of the bedrooms as my work room. It's on the first floor of the building. There is a lift, should you need it.
The flat has two bathrooms (or I suppose more accurately, one bathroom and one shower room, both with toilet and sink). My working assumption is that you'd take the 2nd bathroom as yours, but that's not set in stone :-)
The living areas are great - really spacious, and the kitchen is great to cook in, with gas hobs and plenty of room to prep meals.
The area is fantastic - I've lived very close to this flat for most of the last 14 years, literally around the corner for 9 of those. Victoria Park is a minute or two walk away, the number 8 bus stop even closer (this bus runs 24 hours a day). It's about a 15-20 minute walk to either Mile End or Bow Road stations, Bow Church DLR similar. Roman Road has all the shops you could need, there's loads of great cafes and pubs nearby, Victoria Park village is just the other side of the park, and the weekend market in the park is lovely. I spend a lot of time at Pavilion Cafe, by the lake!
I work as a DJ, so I'm usually out on Thursday/Friday/Saturday nights. Ideally, my flatmate will work office hours, and not be regularly working from home in the days. I figure it will be nice for both of us to have some time when we reliably get the flat to ourselves, and then have the other times where we share the space. Having friends/partners over is fine, but it's definitely not a party flat, not a space for bringing people home after a night out, etc
Strictly no smoking/vaping in the flat. Drinkers fine, but I'm 8 years clean and sober, so if you're a proper "get on it" person, this isn't the flat for you.
I'm happy for whoever takes the room to move furniture around, give it a paint, put up shelves/pictures etc to make it feel like home (all within reason, obvs!).
Most importantly, I just hope to find someone who is a nice, friendly, clean, respectful flatmate, and I hope to be that to them in return.
