Double room in East London

Double room, 2-bed flat, Mile End, sunny garden

We have a double room to rent as part of a 2-bedroom flat here in sunny Mile End. Current flatmate is moving back home to Scotland so we're looking for a replacement!

Flat is part of the Bellmaker Court complex, ~7 minute walk north to Mile End station and also ~7 minute walk south to Westferry DLR. In theory the flat comes with a parking space (barriered car park) but neither of us drive so we can investigate that if you've got a car.

Got a Lidl and a small Tesco within 5 minutes plus various bossmans and off licenses - we are next to a school and the area is quite residential but we also have our local pub a couple minutes away. Got Mile End Park + the canals on your doorstep and then obviously Victoria Park to the north.

Room has a double bed + mattress, chest of drawers, cupboard and a couple of wee units. There currently isn't a desk but the previous tenants did have a desk in the room so there's space if you want to bring one.

Standard single bathroom with bath/shower and toilet, living room also pretty standard, projector as TV coffee table and sofa…

Kitchen is fully equipped and has fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher (all 3 are brand new because the previous 3 all broke within the last 12 months), toaster, microwave, kettle, plus dining table with 4 chairs. We also have an ironing board + iron plus a big storage cupboard for suitcases etc.

The flat's pièce de résistance is the lovely south-facing garden, which gets the sun from sunrise until about 6pm. If you have a green finger or like to do a bit of gardening then this is the flat for you, we have a shed filled with more pots than we even know what to do with + top soil, gardening tools, a lawn mower and a strimmer. There's also a plum tree in the centre which harvests a bucket full of plums every August.

At the top of the garden is a little patio where we have a wee table and chairs and a couple of barbecues.

Currently, the flat is being painted, and we are changing the sofas in the living room, so the pictures are outdated, from when I first moved in, but more or less you can have an idea of how it looks like.
We are painting the whole flat, plus kitchen cabinets. The three sofas that you can see in the living room is changing to a new one.
The mirror in the bathroom will be changed. Plus in the room I will put a wardrobe, and another chest of drawers.
I’ll update the pictures as soon as the rooms are ready.(we are just getting this things done in the next two weeks, just ready for when someone moves in)

A bit about me, I've just turned 26, from Spain, working in the Hospital nearby, been in London a couple years.
If I’m not working and doing extra shifts, I’ll be at the gym, trying new sports or at the pub with my friends.
I am easy going, down for a chat and a glass of wine to complain about how stressful it is to be a 20something y/o in this city.

We are also good friends with our across-the-hall neighbours, we often barbecue together, go to the pub or just chill in the garden. You'll meet them pretty quickly .

We are looking for someone who:

- Doesn't hide in their room and likes to hang out

- Is reasonably clean and tidy, we are not clean freaks but yknow, usual stuff. It's a nice flat, and it's better place to live if we keep it clean. If you like gardening that would be a huge bonus but we’re chill either way.

That’s pretty much it. We are pretty laid back people, if you're cool, we're cool.

Smokers not a problem, please just keep it outside and in the garden, we don't want the flat stinking of tobacco

No students I'm afraid unless you're willing to pay the council tax - we won't get exemption because I'm working full time.

Rent is 1000 on the 1st of every month, and then there's gas/electric, broadband and council tax on top of that. My current flatmate did all the bills previously but they'll get transferred to me now so you'll probably just bank transfer me.

Appreciate renting in London is crazy at the moment so I will try to reply to every message I get but I may be a bit slow in getting back to you.
