Description

I’m looking for a friendly and considerate professional to share my tenancy for a beautiful, bright and clean first-floor maisonette in Bowes Park.

The flat is on a peaceful, tree-lined street with excellent transport links:

2-min walk from Green Lanes
5-minute bus ride or 25-minute walk to Wood Green station
15-minute walk to Bounds Green station
15-minute walk to Bowes Park station, with direct trains to Highbury & Islington and Moorgate stations

It is also a 30-min bus ride to

The area has a lovely neighbourhood feel, with independent grocers, cafés, bakeries, restaurants, green spaces and local amenities nearby. Myddleton Road is also close by, with cafés, bars, restaurants, a monthly Sunday market and occasional local events. Tesco Express, a GP surgery, pharmacy and gym are all within easy reach.

The flat

This is freshly painted, clean and characterful flat with new sash double-glazed windows all around.

The flat has a lovely shared living room, where a sofa bed and desk will be added.

The kitchen is fully equipped, with a table and a brand-new fridge/freezer. There is one very clean bathroom with a large dink and a bathtub. There is also a special closed area for the washing machine with extra storage for cleaning products, bowls, e. t. c.

There is also a beautiful single room to share between us or you could have exclusive use (as a study room e. g.) for an extra £250. The door has stained glass reflecting the light from the south part of the flat and it has lovely street views. It currently includes a bookcase and a clothes hanger.

There is also a beautiful private south-facing garden, accessed via stairs — perfect for enjoying in the warmer months and where you could put your own pots and plant and do some planting in the ground.

About me
You’ll be sharing the flat, with just me, and I’ll also be moving into the flat shortly from East London. I’ve lived in the UK for 17 years and currently work as an editor for a biology journal, having previously worked as a University researcher. I go into the office around twice a week, on flexible days, and I’m often away every couple of months for work or to visit family — so you’ll regularly have the flat to yourself.
Outside work, I enjoy music, photography, the arts and follow international affairs. At weekends I’m usually out seeing friends, going for coffee, visiting markets, exhibitions, events or gigs.
I’m friendly and sociable, and happy to chat over cooking or share the occasional glass of wine, if the general mood is such, while also respecting privacy and personal space.
I like to keep the home clean and uncluttered — especially the kitchen and bathroom — so I’m looking for someone similarly considerate who will help keep shared spaces tidy and pleasant.

I am the lead tenant, and the letting agency/landlady will require proof of employment and affordability. A one-month rent deposit will also be required.
